Chop or a few more days? What do you guys/gals think?
Not to Hijack your post, but this may help both of us!

You probably did. Pistils will receed and calyxes will swell.
The close-up is prior to harvest, then pic hanging is 5 days hanging before we put it in jars. Thoughts?

You guys are awesome

2-3 weeks or so too early. They pack on quite a bit of weight during this time if you let them.

It doesn't look like they're growing anymore really, but they get a lot fatter.

Hopefully we can clear some of this up, all the reputable websites that cover when to harvest seem to have a similar thesis, that cloudy trichomes with slight amber are when the girls are at their highest THC level. However the majority of professionals here on rollitup seem to have determined that a couple weeks after this is best. So is the extra couple weeks for weight and fatter flower structure only or what? Please elaborate if you guys have opinions on this. Thanks in advance!

Yes let em go as long as you can. They Put on most weight and trichomes production during final weeks. Which is usually longer than "Their" suggested times.

Some growers are just impatient and can't wait for plants to tell them when they are ready.

Read plants not schedules ;)

Can you elaborate on this please? After reading your post I think I may have harvested my plants too early!
For the pistils comment see pic 1. This is just some basic info that may help and provide a starting point. From all I see harvesting early and over feeding are the most common mistakes made by growers. That and believing breeder times for flowering. It is really unfortunate to see people spend months growing plants and than chopping them down early just to post a question asking why their pot smells like hay/grass. As for trichomes, that comes down to personal preference which takes experience. What you can do is harvest in sections. Than you can allow some buds to go longer than others and see for yourself what the difference is. Happy growing.

Thanks @Doug Dawson I've seen that, on other threads. I do understand that aspect and looking at my plants, the pics at the top of post, they appear cloudy with some amber, so based on that, I believe they're ready, however last harvest I posted on here and the majority told me I chopped too early. And as this thread suggests, I wait a couple weeks more. I'm not opposed, I'm just trying to get a better understanding of why the suggested wait from a more scientific aspect.

I appreciate that. For me I look at your pics and see white pistils reaching up. This to me says it is still growing and trying to bulk up. This is the reason I would suggest you wait. That said you are in the harvest window and there is some personal preference that comes into play. I think the best thing you could do is harvest in sections. You could take some now, some in a week and so on so you can try the strain at different stages of ripeness. Could be you find it gives the best experience now or perhaps you will learn you prefer a ton of amber. There is no rule that says you have to harvest the whole plant at the same time. As a matter of fact many cut the upper colas when they are done and leave the lower stuff to get more light and bulk up before they chop it. As for the varying opinions, that is just the nature of the beast as everyone has a preference. There is no black and white answer that would fit all. What is early to one is perfect to the next so don't worry about that too much. Just figure out what is the best result for you by testing different ripeness and you will learn more than anyone else can teach you.
