Did you guys hear what's in the new budget that has been agreed to? Not only are they allowing CDC to study gun violence, but actually put some money there to fund it. This was lobbied hard against by the NRA. 45 still needs to sign it.

I get it. You think you are safer when you have a gun in your possession. Yet, data collected by the NIH and FBI both show that people who own a gun are far more dangerous to themselves and their loved ones than those who don't own a gun. If it just stopped there, I'd say, ok, so don't cry to me if your kid picks up the gun that you have stored unsafely (most gun owners don't store their guns safely) and offs your wife in a horrendous accident. It doesn't stop there, though. My kids are less safe when they visit a home where a gun is stored unsafely. Guns are stolen and used in crimes. The flood of guns into our streets and neighborhoods have led to a situation where the US has many times more deaths due to gun violence than other similar nations that have more restrictive gun laws. Then there is the trauma that school shootings have caused my kids because schools are forced to hold active shooter drills unlike anything in other first world nations that don't allow just anybody to go out an buy a mass murder weapon.

Yet here you are saying something that is totally untrue as justification for all that.

Well my point on that is ars should not be allowed what so ever I only see handguns for self defense and they should have a psych evaluation before they even let you have a weapon like that
