Trying my first run with autos (Critical Purple from Growers Choice) on MC + Sweet Candy + Bud Explosion, with Cali Magic and Orca on the side - hydroponic bato buckets. I'm just going into week 8 and I can definitely say it's been pretty easy. I can see a tiny bit of burnt leaf tip or a little spot of yellow here and there so I'm not perfectly dialed in, but she seems pretty happy. What can I say about MC? Well, it doesn't smell the nicest ;). I don't know how it's supposed to look coming out of the bag, but some of what's in there is a powder, some of it is big chunky rock-balls. It all seems to dissolve eventually, though. Starting to see some residue build-up in the res and the air stone is starting to clog up, so at next water change I'm going to have to scrub things out.

Just received my new sack of sweet candy.
Looks like the formula changed.

New sc.....(prior sc)
0-0-16
Potash 16% (1.0%)
Mag @ 5.5% (.5%)
Sulfer @ 13% (none)

Anyone know the PPM breakdown per gram?
(With the added mag and sulfer, may eliminate epsom if/when needed.)

Thanks.

50 grams of this new stuff is a much smaller pile than the old version. This is my observation anyway.
For my veg res I was measuring 50 grams. The new stuff seems to be a smaller amount for the same weight as the version 1 for what's it's worth.

Agreed, the 2.0 Mega Crop is a finer powder grind, less odor, than the prior version. Seems to dissolve better/faster....except the big chunks of ca/mg can be more stubborn.
I just weigh it out since I only mix small batches of 4 or 8 gallons.
Week 2 running 4.5grams Mega Crop + Calmag + .5 BE. in Coco.

Been using mc for about a week, plants seem to like it. and easy to use, but holy this stuff stinks!! any idea what the smell is from or why it has a sort of froth to it when mixed? also i did notice it disolved alot better in warm water vs cold.there is a bit of sediment left at the bottom of the res as well. considering changing over completely for the next run...

Anyone aerating their reservoirs to reduce the sediment? Any PH swings as a result?Im looking to use it in a drip system I can walk away from for a week or two. Ive been hand watering up until now.

I've got a massive airstone and 8GPM airpump in my 100G res. Once I set the PH it pretty much stays between 6-6.2. I dump it once a week and might have to add a bit of PH down once or twice in between. Really stable PH from my experience. I used to run a water pump and it was similar, maybe a tiny bit more stable.

It works fine for me using autopots and blumats. I only stir it once a day and make sure my reserviors never get too low

The water pump being more stable pH makes sense. Any co2 pumped through an airstone will bond with available hydrogen atoms in the res causing a shift in pH. Circulating water would have much less of an effect on it.

I pretty much expect a potential PH swing as the ladies consume some nutrients more than others anyway as a side effect of using a recirculating system. So any impact of an air pump and stone isn't much of an inconvenience, but I've still found myself occasionally considering pulling the trigger on an O2 Grow emitter.
