New England outdoors 2018

I meant 3 more weeks. Mine are 9 week strains, supposedly.
I think outdoor grows are very weather dependent on when to harvest. Watch your buds and the weather when you get close to the 9 weeks, and the trichomes should start to be more cloudy than clear. Take a good close up pic and you should be able to tell. I know my outdoor grow buds have really started to stack up the last 10 days, well until the recent deluge, but didn't event start to flower until Aug 15th. I hope to harvest 2nd week in Oct.

Anyone have experience drying in a lower than ideal temperature? I can only dry in my shed because reasons and I'm worried that the cold might be a problem for my later finishers. I would guess it probably averages about 10 degrees F warmer than the outside temp, so night time in November could get down to freezing.
I’d like to know the answer to this as well. Was planning on drying in my shed. Have a garage but don’t really want my kids seeing a bunch of dismembered pot plants hanging in there. Growing them, they could care less other than the skunk that they’ve been told is living under the deck for the past 3 months...hanging from the garage ceiling?.....they might ask some tough questions at that point. Would rather avoid the ‘daddy grows dope’ conversation at this stage.

I am planning to harvest 2nd week in Oct. and will be drying in my outdoor shed. It has no heat, no electricity, and will have open windows for ventilation. Usually my drying process is about 2 weeks, so I think I am good at least until 1st week in November. That's my plan, anybody think this will work?

man oh man looks like another moldy yr in NE, last yr was the worse I seen in many yrs, this yr is right on par :cuss:ho2o 3% is cheap an is a must have right now!!
That sucks. Are you talking about PM or bud rot? Seeing as how I’ve dealt with EVERY issue you can this year growing pot, what do I do when I get bud rot...because it will happen, guaranteed. Regular drug store bought hyd peroxide and spray where? Don’t you just cut it out? Sorry, another noob question.

3% HYDROGEN PEROXIDE in the brown bottles, put your sprayer IN the brown bottle. Hydrogen peroxide is part vampire, it looses it's mojo if it's exposed to light.

Before you cut or pick the mold is a good time to spray the bad area with hydrogen peroxide. Let it fizzle awhile and dowse it good. This is so you can dampen any spores so not so many become airborne and start fucking with the plant right next to them. It also gives you time to tend your garden and then you can return to the moldy areas and pick the mold out with less of a chance of spreading it to your healthy girls which are already tended.

Wash hands and any cutting tools BEFORE touching healthy plants.

A plastic bag is a good place to store the moldy pickings. leaves, etc. as you're evicting the mold. Then get that moldy stuff AWAY from your grow site.

Good luck. Seems like this is going to be a moldy year (again).

Weather is looking up for me. The next 4 days are sunny partly cloudy but no rain and humidity in the 70s.

Please lord God baby jesus let that be accurate.
AGREED !! Today is starting out with sun and dry air... sure could use some of that. Just hoping my gurls can make it to the finish line. Bt seems to work pretty good. No worm poops I could find anywhere.

Is there anything you can do with the moldy bud or do you have to just ditch it? (i.e. can it be used with the sugar leaf trim to make oil and butter?)

If you must use the shed, consider using a fan. (doesn't have to be blowing a hurricane on them either) It's a good idea to keep some kind of air movement going when you first whack them and the plants still have a high water content, especially if the humidity is high or it's rainy etc.

There's probably some threads here somewhere that will help you figure out when to container the bud / curing etc. . you might want to check them out. Lots of people hang them until a small branch makes a "crack" sound and then container them, then periodically open and close the container to let excess moisture out.

Buds, due to their respective physical properties and the surrounding air dry at different rates. Jarring and forgetting too soon can cause problems, since some buds will be dry on the surface but still retain some moisture within.

First time I lit up with one of my kids was at a family party. Me and a few other old farmers were pretty tipsy and burning one behind the barn in the twilight. I went to hand the joint to the guy standing next to me and my 17 year old son (didn't even know he was the guy next to me) took a hit and said, "busted dad" . Everybody had a good laugh. That was a long time ago.

Can someone tell me if these skinny-ass looking buds are on schedule? Supposedly done in 3 weeks +/- but looking like a long ways to go yet. They are 5-6 weeks in and taking their sweet ass time. Getting nervous...
Mine look about the same. Nice looking plants patience is what we have to have. Good luck;):leaf:
