How long do you flush DWC?

As the title says. How long do u flush for? Interested to see what different people say. I heard 3 to 5 days?

Start one week out and flush with RO water and run for 3 days and flush once more and run for 4 days. This will allow the nutes to slowly lower and your girl will pull from within to support her requirements. Hydro is quicker during this process, no need to run 2 weeks.

I flush for null days before harvest.

Sometimes I will flush lines and media to remove salt and solids buildup in the system.

No reason to do a pre-harvest flush other than stoner mysticism.

(True believers can fight me!)

Maybe I'll only flush 3 days since I'm hydro but I'm definitely flushing my plants. I don't care what you say. If you don't flush I think your crazy

What do you mean science? Why would I want my plant tasting like nutrients? I've never heard of not flushing being a good thing. Weird. You have interested me in doing some research though on the subject once I get out of work.

If you don't over-feed than you don't need to flush. If you over-feed then you should flush. easy peasy. If your Miracle Gro plants have blue leaves it might actually take 2 weeks to flush that shit out.

It’s cool man, there are a few of us here who don’t pre-harvest flush. I taper off nutes at the very end, and I only run about 100ppm N for most of the run, but a proper dry and cure means so much more to the end product than any sort of flushing ever will. Plants are made of those nutrients, I have never understood that argument.

Also, to the other poster: Copper sulfate is what makes Miracle Gro blue, probably.

My buddy uses miracle grow soil and adds extra ingredients in the soil, mixes the soil up and only feeds water the whole veg. Adds bat guano and transplants to bigger pots for flower and only water. He comes out with some extremely bomb og skywalker kush and a couple other strains. He flushes 2 weeks with no nutes added and comes out with the tastiest buds I ever smoked, no lie. Good high too but hydro can kill soil in thc content and yield which is why I chose my own method of growing verses soil or coco. That and quicker veg times.

Its an easy experiment to do. Grow a clone to harvest, flushing for 2 weeks or whatever, then grow the same clone and dont flush. Do a blind tasting and see if you can tell. I know where my money is.

A friend of mine flushed since the first crop he grew (1980's) swore black and blue you had to do it. Last year I gave him a sample of mine and a few weeks later he asked how long I flushed for. I said I don't flush. He no longer flushes. He cures instead. He always thought that was a waste of time to. Old stoner growers, we get set in our ways sometimes but we can change when shown the light.
I no longer dunk the plants roots in boiling hot water full of sugar and hang upside down to help the resin flow to the buds for eg. Nor do I stick nails into the stem anymore.

The new growers have it so easy with the interweb.

Great story, we really do have it easy. I just started four years ago, I'm still a newb. The information is out there, if you can read with some discernment, OP

OP: Also consider the tobacco industry doesn't "flush" their plants pre-harvest. Literally nobody but us ignorant-ass weed growers do that. We're hurting yield, or wasting time, or both. Time better spent, in my opinion, in a curing jar.
