Time to harvest tiny buds.. :(

Hey everyone my first post here after using the site as an epic resource during my grow. So I've done the usual noobie Northen lights auto in a 2x2 with a Mars hydro 300w. I've got two girls in there, one which will be coming down tonight and the other still has time to go on week 12... Is this normal for autos? Sensi seeds said a 9 week cycle. One plant has turned out short and bushy, was expecting good things yet its basically produced popcorns no bigger than your thumb as main buds? Yet the other plant which has had identical treatment and conditions has grown a fair bit taller and produced some meaty nugs in comparison, she still has a week or so? Only just starting to see some of the pistils turning orange. I fed them a lucas formula GH mix, grown in coco/perlite, constant 21-22 degrees with minimal fluctuation at lights out. Have I messed up somewhere or is it genetics perhaps? I get that it's not the ideal light and cramped in there for two girls but surely the two would have been abit more consistent? Anyway I'll post back once she's been cut and hung up :) peace ✌

I was getting Amber triches on that first one and full brown pistils? Second one has only just shown signs of browning and still has clear triches

It's probably genetics. I grew 4 white cheese autos a few years ago in my veg area. They all had the same environment, nutes, etc. One barely made 2zs, 2 were right around 4zs ea, one was just over 7zs.

Anything you grow from seed isn't going to be 100% consistent, it's the only reason I'm not a big fan of autos. I'm sure in the last few years since I played with autos some breeders have got thier shit together and stabilized stuff better than it was. I haven't really looked at them in a couple years. I still have seeds of a couple different auto strains around here somewhere....i think I'll go look for em.

Those white cheese went something like 6 weeks longer than the breeder said, but I did push veg ferts into flower, which extends thier time.

There's a thread around here somewhere talking about how some newer hybrids don't amber up when they ripen, it's getting bred out of them. Kinda makes sense, amber is just degrading THC, without the degradation, you can potentially go longer to get a little more weight without potency loss.

I don't think I'll go auto for my next grow for this reason, I'll go down the regular photoperiod and take some. Cuttings, cheers for the input! Funny how you mention veg nutes pushes them longer as I did give these two a slight nitrogen Toxicity early into flower. I cut the smaller plant Down and just eye balling it I'd say maybe 1.5oz, really dense little buds but tiny, other one is loving the space in my 2x2 now, really stretched her out abit and hopefully help with the light penetration! Building my own cob lights at the moment so I'm looking at this as a learning curve, can only get better from here!

Looks good, bet she tastes good too. But all in all what matters is you had a good time doing it didn’t you? not to mention it’s great to have the extra experience.

Seriously frosty buds and packing out but am I being paranoid in thinking i may be getting a hermi? Or would i have seen it by now? Sorry my 60 quid alcatel phone is a piece of shit haha not the best photos but it just wont focus

Got a scope to check trichs? You want partly cloudy with some amber. She looks like she fattened up over the last week. Pics aren't great, but she looks like she could be cut any day now. I wouldn't worry about a herm at this point, it shouldn't be alive long enough to matter, another week at most, if that.

So I ended up having to cut her down a few days earlier than the full two weeks I said leave her but I'm going off for a few days which would leave her unattended. Much happier with this one anyway, after only getting just over half an ounce dried from the first plant lol, still tastes pretty decent after a week in the jar, still holding out on it slightly, Finishing up the last smoke I bought. I'd eyeball 2oz or so with this plant, buds are way denser and could really feel the weight on them while I was cutting the branches down, nice consistent size of side branch buds all nice frosty and dense too, will give it 5-7 days and get back to you with a weight. Also stuck my little mycology project in the tent :D very happy with how that's going too, but as far as cannabis goes I'm going to have to wait a few months till after the move, then I'll get cracking with the next new and improved setup and some more variety of photoperiod plants I think, save me getting bored of vaporising the same stuff for a while.
