Hellooo
Im running a Nirvana Raspberry Cough in a single bucket DWC. Has a bunch of problems with it mostly related to nutes (too much mostly).
Additives I have are Cannazyme, Rhizo, PK 13/14 and Boost. Some people said these arent all necessary. So im just wondering what from the Canna line people are using in DWC and do you recommend them?
Cheers!

I used to use the whole canna coco range. Now i used the a and b and a small amount of pk 13-14 mid flower.
Never saw a reduction in quality or quantity but am less likely to run into any salt build up using just the base.

Sounds like too much to me. I don't use any 'zyme products as I prefer to run sterile.

I've been doing DWC since '01 using AN nutes but I don't buy a bunch of additives. Just the 3-part base which is the same price as others but has goodies in it others don't. Rhino Skin for silica and I use it from the start at low doses and not 2 weeks into flowering like it says on the bottle. It's buffered so doesn't raise the pH too much when you add it first to your water. The plain-jane stuff shoots the pH up to 10 sometimes.

For bloom booster I use Big Bud. Has a better P/K ratio for pot. 0-15-35, 20 aminos, citric and ascorbic acids and 10% sulfur to boost resin production. I've grown without it and the difference is very noticeable.

This round I also used the Bud Factor X and the last of a tiny bottle of Bud Ignitor. I got a 500ml bottle of the X as a free sample or wouldn't have had it and had bought the 250ml bottle of Ignitor a couple grows back and wasn't impressed enough to buy more. Might be some truth in the hype that all 3 work together to make a difference but not sold yet. If I could only get one I'd get the BB.

I'm just growing for myself and to share with a few close friends so my cost per oz for nutes is negligible. Electricity is 90% of my grow costs and I wish I could find that cheaper somewhere.

I also add a half dose of any boosters a week before I flip. Logic is that the plants are setting up bud sites and going through a huge growth spurt during the stretch and having them there helps set flowers better and faster. Waiting until week 3 makes no sense to me at all.

Here's a pic of my smaller Critical Mass I took a couple days ago right after light's out at the end of day 21 since the flip so exactly 3 weeks flowering. I think it looks a lot better than most hydro grown plants that don't get boosters until week three and as good as organically grown pot at the same time. With good organics all the things pot needs to grow big buds is already in the soil when flowering starts so why not have it there for hydro?

Lots of sugar forming on her already and the same with her sister and the two AK47 fems I have flowering now. 26" tall and that main cola is going to be phat! Growing in soilless ProMix HP which is similar to growing in hydro as far as feeding goes.

What are you using for water? I only use RO as our water is hard and the minerals in hard water can really mess up plants in hydro or pots.

A+B and PK 13/14. H2O2 every few days.
Doesn't have to be complicated for sure. Early years I grew in just the base 3-part nutes with RO water and a bit of Epsom salts. Food grade 35% peroxide twice a week at 0.5ml/L for a maintenance dose and up to 5 or more mls/L if any sign of browning of the nutes or root rot. Only got rot twice out of 50 tubs over the years and both times I'd rooted the clones in real dirt and not soilless.

Built a DIY chiller out of a water cooler so stopped using the peroxide and had no root problems at 65F for nute temps.

DWC ScroG is killer. One tub and one plant. 8oz of bud and almost the same in popcorn and sugar trim.

Sitting on a wheeled dollie for easy moving around on the cement floor in the grow room.

When do you use the PK13/14?
Once the bud sites are set. Usually around day 25 or so. Then dump whole tank a week later and back to just A+B.

I have tried running it all the way through and from week 4 till the end but it made no difference to yield or quality and the plants look happier using it just for a week in my op.

I've spoken to someone who phoned them... was recommended to just use the soil line, for everything.
It is more pH stable.

Canna say 3 weeks before harvesting. Hard to know that when growing a new strain. Get it right and it makes a big difference
On the new bottles they say to start using as soon as bud sites appear and use all the way through. I was surprised so checked their website and it still says 3 weeks before harvest. Ill grab a pic next time I am in there.

are you talking about Canna PK 13-14?
interesting because this quality coco nute company uses the PK TopUp(essentially same as PK 13-14) from wk7 through to wk12

wow so thats a big change to Canna's PK 13-14 routine after all these years! it mustn't affect flavor since they recommend its to be used right to the last wk? i just looked at my PK 13-14 bottle and it has same directions as yours, i never read it because i remembered the old instructions of yore, looks like i will experiment with it further now

Yeah I am not sure what to think really. I tried using it from W4 til end but the leaves looked like they had been fried in the oven lol. I just dumped a tank after 10 days of using it and the leaves were just starting to fray at the edges.
