Beginner Organic Hydroponic Grow Problems

Everyone said I was crazy to try this... especially just starting out (I'm stubborn).
Well... I recently completed a grow of Crazy Miss Hyde's. Two of the plants, I had to scrap early (I had 6 total, so I ended up with 4). The other 4 came out fine (other than being too short because I switched to a 12/12 light cycle way too early).
That said, for the 2nd grow I decided to do 3 plants to give them more space (I have a Growzilla).
I started with those Root Router plugs because they came with the Growzilla.
I did one "Tuna God", one "Black Valium", & one "Vicky Peach".
"Vicky Peach" never sprouted & that was the beginning of my problems.
I held off adding the plants to the grow box/hydroponic system while waiting for "Vicky Peach" to catch up.
The two seedlings seemed undernourished, so I went a little heavy on the nutrients. That was a bad idea.
The "Black Valium" seedling began showing signs of nutrient burn within a week.
"Tuna God" looked good, but short & stubby. It still seems to be doing alright... still short & stubby.
I halved out the nutrients a week ago.
I only noticed very slight improvements in the "Black Valium". When I looked underneath, there were only a couple small roots & they were coated with slime.
I added Cannazym... not entirely organic, but the closest thing I could find.
The plant appears to be doing better, but now there is white mold on the base of the growing medium... Argh!
Anybody have any suggestions?

Well first it is crazy. You're starting with a hard growing method. 2 pics help A LOT.
3 mix some 3% peroxide with water at a ratio of 2 parts peroxide to 5 parts water and then mist the affected areas. You can add a bit of peroxide to the resevoir but keep in mind too much will badly damage your plants and they will flop over.

Also PH and PPM monitoring is essential in full hydro. You will get nowhere without keeping a close eye on both.

As above. Iv known people try this before with untold problems, organic nutes create a happier place for stuff to grow in your Rez , pipes etc especially the higher the temps. But it is possible, you'll just have to be on top of everything, which as we're all stoned 24/7 is not an easy thing

Thanks... Yeah, even the guy at the hydro store gives me crap about doing this. LOL! This is good, as I picked up a gallon of the stuff the other day. I've been a bit unsure about using it. I'll give it a whirl tonight.

It's my second time doing it... The first time wasn't too hard. This time, it's a disaster & they've only been in there a couple weeks. Speaking of stoned... It's high time I get on that (no pun intended)!

Try regular hydro, like a fucking adult.
And use bleach, in my opinion, I prefer it to h2o2.
I know I sound harsh, I am trying to get you to use your brain, by rattling your feelings.

Organic hydroponics is almost an oxymoron. Roots uptake nutrients in elemental forms, using organics almost completely negates the benefits of hydroponics. You will continue to have problems.

Hmmm... If I'm going to completely scrap the idea, I'll go organic with pots. I say that mainly because I have a shitload of those nutrients. I'm gonna have to rattle this around my brain for a bit.

It's like pushing shit uphill. You're stuck in limbo between synthetic and organic. Meanwhile the plants have no idea WTF is going on. Or whether they're in soil or getting their nutes injected.

We agree on that, I grow organic veggies outside and hydro cannabis inside. Actually running soil indoors at the moment, but with lots of chemical salts.

I love my veggies too.


I personally havnt had much success at all with soil indoors.
I made a rule for myself to follow, "dirt belongs outside", just like my parents taught me.


But on the other hand others are killing it with soil, indoors and always have.
I just think there's a point, as you say. Where we feed that much ionic fertilizer to our soils, that it's far from organic. Or anything like our soil outside. Not nearly as alive.

I reckon it's like you say. We have to feed heavier, to compensate for the lack of life in the soil, indoors.
It's a completely different debate, that I won't get into. But I don't consider organic hydro, to be organic at all.

Sorry OP. I honestly think you'll get more out of your nutrients, if you treat them like they're synthetic. Just don't use them in a recycling reservoir.
