Hello RIU

I'VE JUST SETUP MY FIRST DWC DIY TOP FEED SYSTEM FOR 2X PLANTS..

Q1) does the hydroton have to stay wet at the top of the net pots?

Q2) Is 30lpm of o2 enough for a 70L max res?

Q3) is 300ppm OK for the first couple weeks after transplanting from root riot cubes into the system?

Q4) I've built a DIY drip feed that is set for 5x feeds every 4 hour at a rate of 100ml per 1.5min =500ml per day ' I's this enough?

Q5) plants are 9days from sprout do that look OK for 12days old?20180307_065540.jpg 20180307_065531.jpg

I've got another problem at the moment, I've got a new hailea 150a chiller that's giving me some issues.
First off ' I have a 800lph pump connected to the INN pipe sat in my rez with a back syphon connector 6 inches down the pipe that leads to the chiller20180309_155217.jpg

The outlet pipe from the chiller carrying the chilled water 'has a online filter 6inches before it enters the chiller for cooling20180309_155228.jpg

My problem is.. the chiller doesn't seem to pump the water through because the out pipe to the rez with the online filter seems blocked? I disconnected the OUT pipe to blow down it to see if it was blocked and it was impossible to blow down until I sucked some water up it then it was fine again?

Does' having the outlet pipe from the chiller at the bottom of my rez make a difference? Reason I did it this way was to create a currant at the bottom of the rez for keeping nutrients and salts from settling on the bottom but' I think maybe the pressure or something is messing me around?any advice guys?

Sounds like a backwards check valve

Basically yea! is there any reason for it to jam up with no flow back to the rez? My pump is on 24/7 running through the chiller and the chiller is connected to a inkbird controller set to 19c with 2c difference for cooling and 3c difference for heating, the chiller is set to 16c because if I set it the same as the controller ' the chiller coolest rapidly whilst the rez temp is a lot slower?

No I don't run a chiller. Without putting much effort into understanding your setup I can only offer this. Sounds like there is a lot of filtering going on. Is it possible you ve just got a bit of plastic or something in the line that dislodges when you empty it and after a while of flowing it jams up again? I feel like running a chiller with low to no flow it'd freeze up quick and you'd notice though
