So im testing my slee skunk males pollen for viability
On a dutch passion auto blackberry kush to see if its still good for the upcoming run.

Hairs shriveled up so im assuming the pollen is still good.

Question is did i just make a batch of really confused seeds by mixing a photo and an auto?

I realize that the seeds may or may not be auto.

But other than that did i make a freak of nature?

Autos are recessive so you will get 25 percent of them will auto.
On a side note I have ran the blackberry and it is garbage.garbage all the way man.weak as fawk.

Have you guys seen many hermies with GPS gear? I'm not talking about bananas at the end, I mean the ones that start early and fuck up your entire crop if you don't catch them.
I'm running my first pack of GPS beans right now but I've got at least 14 more in the fridge.
In fact, I'm looking at some under-performers in my current crop & wondering if I could make better use of my plant count by culling the weaklings & popping more beans.

I agree you can get fire from a runt or mutant.

But id rather have a breeder who has sifted through the chaff.

They just need to be honest when saying if a strain is stable or not.. i dont mind pheno hunting.
But not if im buying a single fem seed lol

But i do agree any plant could be a gem thats why i dont throw away any bag seeds i get :)
I have, like most of you, gotten many seeds from many different breeders. Some were $25 and some that were $500. Very very few had stabilityin the packs I got. This goes for f1's , bx's, ibls, land races, female seeds or whatever is out there.
If you like to pheno hunt, more power to you.
But that mentality, that breeders use, is moronic to me.
Plant counts nowadays just doesn't warrant that. Going through many packs of seeds to hope to find a keeper, is a horrible breeding technique!!!
I think growers are led to believe that there might be the holy grail in there! That just so irresponsible!
I take what I get from these so called breeders and improve on them everytime.
What I would want as a seed purchaser is to find aat least one keeper per pack.
So the seeds I have sent out to others, always come back with results that they have found more than one amazing pheno in what I have sent them.
That's breeding, not someone who went through a thousand seeds and still send out packs that are lacking keepers!

I agree much respect to breeders that have gone through the "chaff "

Mr. Nice serious paradise all the old banks before pollen chucking happend .

I know i whatched it happen in the last 15 years .

Not saying its a good or bad thing.

Also not saying i do or dont like the hunt either :)

I still will save any bag seeds and i use them for experiments lol or stuff like solo cup challenge

But i agree if plant counts are a concern you would want the most stable plant that actually resembles the description in the sale ad :)

Edit to add im pretty sure thats what i meant in the post you quoted

So I hear males are extremely hard to keep for the long term. Some will just start to flower on you like an auto with the slightest stress or just weaken and die after a few years.
The first thing I would do after finding a suitable male is to take cuttings and spray gibberellins so you can S1 that stud, then back cross and sequentially line breed his progeny until you had an unlimited stock of seeds that resembled the vader.
Couldn't you just take cuttings before the flip, like you would to run a female perpetually?

I did not think you can turn a male into female.that is the first I ever heard of it.i k ow you can reverse a fem but never heard of the other way around.
I forgot to mention that this is the technique used by many of today's "cutting edge" breeders, to take a glimpse of what a males progeny might express in the females.

I'm not sure what the average life span is but I'm talking about over a couple of years time vs females that can live for ages. Look at Chemdog, those girls are going to be 30 in a few years.

I know first hand, that some males, will not revert back, no matter how many hours you throw at them.
