What the heck is going on with pot prices?

Wait until monsanto figures out how to grow a 1lb bug and mold resistant nug on a single stalk. It will be a $1/lb. ;)

Only half kidding there. They will eventually find a way to gmo it so yields, potency, and flavors are high. The prices will drop, and the quality will rise.

But even wiithout that, there is still a lot of room to automate the crap out of large scale grows, and control quality through scientific means, allowing growers to concentrate on quality while dropping costs. There is a lot of profit that can be wrung out of current grows. In the end, it is still quality bud, but at a fraction of the cost to grow.

In short, buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

Fuck Monsanto! They fuck with the genetics of everything that's not the worst part about the way they operate! They have fucked farmers over for years. They also lay claim that they have contract rights to almost every farming seed in the US and want royalties. Its something like that. All I know was I did a research paper in college. It was on genetic modification of food in our food chain. This was almost 20 years ago but I bet that monsanto still has the same practices today as they did then.

They probably copy -righted your research paper. Better have that checked out.

Over here a pound wholesale is equal to 3450 of your US dollars and that's cheap. Kids are buying it at 0.8g or worse for £10
Some folk in that there London are paying 500 English for a oz of GG4 (so I hear)
I know people who pay £200-240 a oz for weed that's not even dry and chopped early!

Maybe it is just my market, but I am not seeing many wholesale buyers stepping up to pay more for top-shelf than they do mids. I've been told by more than a few people that I grow the best weed they've ever smoked. I take that with a bit of tongue-in-cheek, but I hear it from various people that have smoked a ton of weed. My strains include Blue Dream (clone only), Ghost Train Haze, Headband, Kali-mist, Durban Poison, and a couple amazing Kush's to name a few. Now are these top-shelf in your world? I don't know.

There's been a lot of quoting street values, which I still do get a decent price for retail buyers, but when talking about anything over a quarter lb and the price drops right off.

Look up B.C. Seeds. They have some ridiculous gmo strains and last I saw they were listed for something like 50k a pack. I just checked and their first listing is Forever Buds at 100,000.00 dollars for one pack of seeds. Sounds like a stupid joke but I kid you not.

I think it's called "Forever Buds" because it'd take you forever to recoup your investment.

Idk it costs me about 300 a lb when I break down my costs indoors. Obviously excluding the initial equipment buy. I get between 2 and 2.5k a lb in my area and it's very flooded. I have family a few states away but prices are similar. Still worth it for me but I also hold a very well paying job and do this on the side. I smoke roughly a half pound between harvests so just growing in general is worth it to me to cut that 1200 bucks out of my cost every 2 months.

I'll never understand people and their outdoor pots. Give me a big deep planting bed with a raised bed on top heaped with a mound of soil and covered with a breathable moisture barrier for mulch and I'll be blowing them away as if I were driving a Venom GT while everyone else is still driving their sweet 16 hand me down.
I like raised bets too, the roots can go deeper but require a lot more work,
Some things are not very practical for several thousand outdoor plants
