Crank up the lights on Day 1 of Flower?

I've been poking around here and the web extensively but haven't been able to come up with a concrete answer to this question.

My Setup:
2 pots @ 27 Gallon each RDWC SCROG
4x8' Tent
2 XXL 1000w HPS on a mover
6" inline fan
GH Nutrients Flora Trio with CalMag, Armour Si and HydroGuard all to spec
Triple Cheese (consistent stretch of 300% @ full power under my Mars1200 LEDS (550W at wall))

I've been vegging these two plants under a single XXL @ 600 watts until the second light came in. Now I have both lights up and going on the mover @ 600 watts each. Should the power be increased to 1000 watts immediately on day #1 of flower or should I wait until the stretch is complete?

I know what to expect when it comes to the ridiculous stretch of this phenotype, however I've never been certain if maximizing the lights on the first day of flowering is counter productive or electrically inefficient. I'm primarily concerned with the final harvest as opposed to saving a few dollars to be clear.

27 gallon pots?? Wow.

If you're flowering, you have an adult plant. Light shouldn't be a problem. The weekend is here. Maybe turn it on in the morning and take a peak every once in a while. Or, gradually increase it every day - very slowly. Every grow space is different.

They are only 1/2 filled at any given point considering the net pots hang down limiting the full capacity. They are HDX totes from Home Depot modified to accept 12" net pots.

So you say full power at the switch to 12/12?

I say so watchfully. Just take a peek every now and then. Or go step by step. Heat is probably more your problem, though it is possible to add too much light.

Heat isn't an issue as I'm deep in the Northeast and it's winter although the temp outside is at a frightening 64F now when it's usually well below freezing. We lost over a foot of snowpack within hours thanks to 2" of hot rain.

I used to live in upstate NY and CT. That's a lot of water the ground is going to have to deal with. Best of luck there.

Here's what I'm really saying. In nature, days gradually get brighter from spring through summer. If you did that, there would be no problems until you've far exceed the light of the sun. The sun is so bright that it will literally burn your eyes our in seconds.

But you're not growing in nature. Very little about indoor grows mimics that. If you are going to end up going full blast at once, then just be vigilant. They will show signs that they're not happy very quickly. The key is watching them.

FYI, my nights are getting down to 64F right now.

Oh. Thanks huckster79, your reply helped me. LOL

If all you're worried about is expense, let there be light!
