What's wrong w/ this floorplan?

You could put a closet or closed-back shelf in the middle of the room, against the door wall.
Then even if people peek in the door a bit, they wont see down the room into danger zone - they will see the side or even back of a closet.

Needs more info before I can say something useful. Is one room Flower on veg. I see a door to get into the first room. How do you get into the second? Where does water come in go out, electric outlets, Fan/Filter placement, intake vents, ballast placement.etc.

It's one room 4' x 9'. The internal square is my current veg and flower area.

Plenty of electric outlets and planning to modify more. I already made the mistake of putting outlets on the North wall.

I'm going to add a water line somewhere (that'll be really sweet) probably in the middle of the West Wall

I've had this setup for about 2 years. It's all insulated 2x4 construction and the South & West wall are concrete with 2x4 also construction.

The South Wall is an exterior wall which I could vent directly outside. My current exhaust vent is 1-1/2" (vibration isolated) conduit tied into the plumbing vent which I like because it goes out of the top of the building.

I'm planning to rebuild the East wall.

I grow in a walk-in closet in my upstairs bedroom. Total space is 5x10-I use half of that space fro my 8 bucket RDWC system. I run 4 buckets along each wall and a rez centered of the back wall.

The internal wall to wall is 4' x 9'. Maybe not as much room sqft. as Green was thinking
Maybe :) And maybe privacy isn't a concern in your situation.
My room is much wider than yours, more like 9x9. But I likewise have my 4x4 tent up against the door's wall, and I really like having my innocuous wooden veg closet to block the view of it from the doorway.

Privacy is high on my list of design specs. The door is unrecognizable, but, there's one driving factor for redoing the whole East wall. Door placement.

Here's the new plan. Have to change the exhaust to the south side. Haven't decided which side will be for veg or bloom. I'd rather have the stink on the outside south wall instead of the common north wall. Probably better to veg on the fresh air intake side? 20180108_234746-1(1)-701x1140rz.jpg

A pocket door is less likely to be airtight and it can't be flush with the exterior wall to conceal it. Unless you know of an effective design, I'd like to see it.

I'll most likely just cut out the existing swinging door and its frame and graft it into the middle.

It might be smarter to just leave the existing door and insulate and air seal the inside.

Frame it out normally. Wrap the door frames that will face the door with a strip of quality berber carpet. As well as the edges of the door. Glue and tack well. Finish off the door frame normal with weather striping facing the door. Add an additional "L" shaped finish frame with weather striping. It self seals with a negative or positive pressure room and if running AC/co2 system air cant wrap around the sunken door to escape. The design can be found in victorian and fung shui architecture. It was commonly used for dark room photography.

I was under the impression that the room was still to be built. So no need to redo it. Anyway pocket doors are the preferred choice in space because they make a stronger seal.

Sorry about the archaic sketch.

I have to rebuild that whole wall. Going to put the door in the middle of the wall. There's a thumbnail floor plan above this post. I'll send you a picture of my current door.

Looks great. If you dont want to go through all that work I would put a wire shelving unit along the wall perpindicular closest to door for the veg. Enough room to squeeze through the door and can roll it out if needed. Will give more bloom room.

The door in the middle will give best use of square footage if you need/want veg. They should have separate environmental controls for optimal VPD for stage of growth.

Build a false ceiling as a seperate box outside the closet to exhaust into. Can put an air ionizer in there then passivelly exhaust out. Up is the best way to vent for odor control

Wasted light is bad. bunch your plants together, a path in the middle is a sure waste on such a small production area. I'd much rather just leave some wriggle space around the side to be able to inspect all plants.
