I’ve got 6 fems, 4 strawberry cough, 1 pineapple haze, 1 blueberry. Pictures speak for themselves. I’m combating winter weather so heat and humidity are hard to come by. It’s staying around 73f (low) 81f (high) for temps. Humidity was 70-80 percent till this morning when it made it down to 40. They have been in a milk jug humidity dome but I took the cap off yesterday to let out some humidity hoping to dry out the medium some. Found them stretching like crazy and also leaves drooping this morning on day 6 from planting. 2A9509CE-96B9-446B-B2BC-5717EE5E2F7E.jpeg4863D629-FFFE-48C2-97E7-FAD7247BB43D.jpeg
lights where 7 inches away. I was afraid of getting to close too hot, but that’s because I’m new to this grow room and it’s in the attic so I don’t know how it will react to the weather yet. So I’m gonna put the lights down close like in the last two pics. Let me know what you think about how close those lights are. Leaves are curling probably due to over watering. I am so scared they will dry out. Using just ph 5.6 tap water with a meter and root riot plugs

What do people prefer full size pics or thumbnails. Maybe I’m not browsing enough but I’m clicking a lot of thumbnails to view photos. Is there a courtesy I should be following?

Anyhow, I switched it up. I’ve got 5 for sure seedlings that need heat and wind and intense light. So I dropped in the mh 400 watt bulb turned down to half power and light cycle 18/6. Also planting those plugs in some coco that I just dropped a scosh or water into after planting and will let those ride for the next 18-24 hours and see how they do. No nutes. And my ph pen isn’t really calibrated so I used drops and pen and it was ballpark 5.5-6 something or other. After this post I think I might start a journal on here. I’m getting into the habit of making a post on here. I get distracted easily. Thanks

Is light too close. 200watt mh. I’m getting the temperature maintained with fans temperature controllers and timers. I think it’s coming along well, only have 4 seedling above soil. Had one that cracked and should have started poking by now another hasn’t popped at all, keeping my fingers crossed. Might throw a couple autos in by the weeks end if those two don’t make it.

Second pic on bottom has a hanging seedcap that I would remove. Hold a toothpick in your left hand and hold it on the left side of the stem right below the cap. With a second toothpick use your right hand to gently pull the cap off to your left.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Thanks guys for the encouragement and taking the time to look at my post.

The last pic is of my setup minus my humidifier I just bought. So there’s where I need your opinion. The second from last pic is my light and it’s showing the distance between the light and plants and my thermostat hydrometer is on top of the planters. It’s been like this and will stay this close due to being able to control temps, but if you read my hydrometer/thermometer you’ll see it’s at 44 percent. Am I getting an accurate reading?

The humidifier has a controller on it which may not work the best but I had it set at 65 rh over night and all I’m getting is 44 at the plants. Hmmm. Whatever the actual rh at the plant is helping a ton no matter what it is, cause those plants blew up from yesterday.

Got my cal mag yesterday but on day 8 I’m not sure if I should introduce that yet or not. Any ideas?

I also got my yardeen Auto waterer so that when these babies start drinking more I can get multiple feedings a day without being home. So excited to get that calibrated and get to using it.

Thanks guys,

To calibrate your meter wrap it in a damp towel, the reading should go up to 99 or 100.

I like to spritz the offending seed shell an keep it moist 9-10 it will then fall off, make a note of that plant and see if it keeps up with the others, in my experience they are weaker plants not always but often enough I noticed, sometimes it's from not planting the seed deeply enough...

If I can't get stuck seeds off, I simply nip them off with a nail clipper leaving as much of the cotelydons intact as possible.

Looks good for a 6 day old, but what is that webbing across your bulbs? Make sure it's not spiderwebs or anything bug-related, as you wouldn't want any kind of mites this early on.

Day 9 fed 1 mL of Cali magic and 1 mL of grow big yesterday and today. They are drinking a gallon of water every 18 hours or so. Feedings are an hour after lights on. Humidity at plants is around 45 percent.

Those webs were from storage. I stopped using the flourescent lights and went to 200 watt mh. Which is kick ass. Seems like 9 days isn’t very long but they are getting big.

So these are the only plants I have. I was gonna do 6 but two didn’t work out. If I don’t get any auto strains in the next month should I just finish these 4 under 600 hps or can I do the two 600 hps lights and just train them to take up the whole grow room. I am going to get my scrog setup in the next few weeks and I’ll show you what I’m working with. I have a 6 by 8 room that I’d like to utilize around 3x8 scrog net. I just feel like 1200 Watts is a lot for 4 plants. I can also just run the two hps lights turned down to 300 watts apiece. You guys are awsome. Have a good weekend

Oh and that was a gallon for all four, so a quart each. Those are number 1 pots. Any ideas on how to keep soil from floating while watering?

still 4 cups per plant is too much. and soil is floating if it's dry and you pour it in fast. but it wont be dry again given the overwatering. I don't think you will need to water now for a week. Take your time. How close is the light now?

0FBDD2D3-4287-41CF-B11D-3979C3BE6AE5.jpeg They are in coco. The pot feels light when I feed and they are about 2 inches from glass. A little closer than that pic as the pics where taken yesterday.

Oh, maybe coco needs more water but I don't know because I never tried it. Didn't you say you switched to a MH and turned down to 200W? I'm afraid even though it's turned down 2 inches is way too close. It would dry them up faster though if too close so at least then the excess water is helpful. My thought is 12 to 18 inches for 400 Watts for a full grown plant, so maybe at least 12 inches for 200? What's that black thing? An auto waterer?

Those pots with coco don't work so well I had massive drainage problems when I used them and nearly killed my plants

From the above pics the coco is WAY to wet. When they're that small you can let it nearly dry out completely so it's a light brown colour.
