Making feminized seeds question

Hi gang, for those who have experience in this, would you spray a lower branch and leave it exposed to the rest of the plant ? Is there a way to contain it so only the branch that's treated gets pollinated and seeded ? How do you go about pollinating a plant onto itself "procedures".

I'm only looking to make just a few seeds and I'm a small two plant grower.

The branch (plant in all seriousness) that is sprayed will become male and will only produce the pollen....it won't seed or bud cus it isn't a female anymore. I don't know if you could/can keep pollen contained in such a small area or if you can target just one branch. I've only done it where I designated one plant as the donor and used other plants to catch the pollen/make the seeds.

One thing to keep in mind....taking the time out to do a cycle this way will set you up for years of uninterrupted growing with fem seeds.

What I do is cut the reversed branch as soon as the pollen pods start to open. I put the branch in another room, with the stem in some water, and collect the pollen over the next week or so. After the pollen dries I store it in the fridge in small labeled containers. When making crosses I select a branch to pollinate, label the branch with the pollen I'm going to use, then use a paint brush to carefully apply the pollen to the pistils of the branch. I do this after the lights go out since I have to turn off all the fans.

Hi folks, I think im in the right place, can someone tell me if the seed shown in the picture is ready to go?, it looks a little bit green on the hinge point but the rest looks great and has big Stripes and brown, it's exactly 4 week's from pollination date and the plant is a 8-9 wk strain psychosis, I pollinated it using sunshine daydream male, Any advice will be appreciated PHOTO_20171121_224927_fx.jpg

What i have done is spraying one branch (actually half a plant that was divided in two via topping) and after the pods started appearing, watch them closely and pick them as they mature. Each mature one you pick can then be pulled to pieces with tweezers on a nearby but. In a weeks time you'll have pollinated plenty. The rest of the reverses branch can then be cut off and either thown away or dried and stored.

I just did a whole lecture on this same topic not two days ago.

Does no one ever do a simple search or read down a list of posts in a specific forum that deals with the subject they're asking about?

Long day setting up my grow room for flowering my CBD girls, posting about it in my journal, getting rid of 7 tag-team spammers and over 900 spam posts on the pot forum I Admin at so too cranky and f'n burned out to re-answer an often asked question.

If it's cracking the calyx it's definitely ready but not all crack the calyx. Give it a week more so the majority will be ripe.

I was referring to the OP's question which I now realize was about making fem seeds and not just about making a few regular seeds on a plant so I owe @ChaosHunter an apology for that little rant. sorry.gif

I plan on trying my homemade CS on some AK47 I'm growing now when I flower them.
