I would be running enough humidifier to get that drying cycle closer to a week at least.

The slower the better

I have a dehumidifier in my humid basement and a house humidifier upstairs to battle the dryness from the heater.

The house and growrooms/ drying closet are kept at 50-60% relative humidity at all times.

Low humidity will help burn the plants with fertilizer too as they can take up too much with the water they need.

Kinda did that ... At harvest time I let plant go dry after its last week of water ... Then left her dry " on the vine " ( in container ) for a few days - THEN chopped and hung . With the low humidity if I didn't keep an eye on her it would have been crispy shit.

I cut at stalk , clipped fans and a few bigger leaves and hung whole plant after 4 days of being in grow bag. Humidity dropped like a rock so watching them was a given . It just took 2 days AFTER that to clip them for jars. You are right about letting moisture wick off slowly ... That is why it stayed in pot just drying out , a little different way but it works me.

I grow by the VPD chart so 70-75% is the norm for my grow area, and I use an AutoCure for drying and curing and have it set for 62%. Never had an issue with mold or mildew with healthy plants.
