How many watts of lights to produce min of 12 lbs a month

Guy is wanting more and its beyond what I'm growing now inside. So I would have to go with a perpetual grow to give him at least 3lbs a week. Been looking at getting more 1000watters but also looking at building COBs and looking at the ceramics.
Tried and proven method is HPS but with the LEDs becoming more advanced and the threads I see on the ceramics of producing more per watt, not sure on which to get.
Can't afford to buy a half dozen of those 1500 dollar LEDs
With the COBs I would have to hire someone to build them as I don't have enough time during the day to build them. So that would be another cost.

Another thing I have to consider is the electric bill/ heat issues in the summer.

Thought about running some autoflowers in the summer outside or the freedom 35 from Dr Greenthumb. Veg inside under LEDs and stick outside for flower. In the winter the lights provide heat for the 2 grow rooms I have now.

I also been thinking about getting 4x4 tents and sticking 600 watt lights in each one I could prob keep things more organized that way If I had a dozen of them. lol

I would do the math on what you produce now. And multiply to reach your goal. You could switch to sog. Lot's of mothers for clones. 16 clones per 1000 watt hps. Shoot for an O per clone, little to no veg time. That's 48 into flower every week, 48 to harvest. You would need to take at least 75 if not 100 clones a week. That's some serious mother plant action. Sounds like quite the challenge without help or a trim machine. Good luck.

I have 10 mother plants right now about chest tall. I can usually take 36 cuttings off each one when I'm cloning. Usually I'm trimming them down because of too much growth.

Depending on variety I'm getting anywhere from 1 lb to 1.5 lb per 1000 watt light. But a lot of it depends on the variety of bud. GSC does not produce like say critical mass does. Some of the bud they want is GSC, GG #4, some OG Kush, etc. Like to talk them into some varities that are shorter in flower and are able to produce more. I'm in soil right now but have experimented with some hydro in the past and it did not go well. If I was able to go with hydro I think the flower time could be cut down some and yield go up.

Dont' know if it would be easier in tents or in a big open room I have to flower rooms now. One is a 12' long, 8' tall and 7' wide stadium grow with 5 boards on each side lights are on a light rail. Other flower room is 12' wide 20' long and 8' tall.

Maybe 26,000 Watts.....

A dozen 4x4 tents will get you about 1 - 1 1/2 lbs each about every 3-3 1/2 months..

No way could I do 26,000 watts the electric bill would be rediculous and the po po would certainly be coming. think I"m just going to have to go with a bunch of plants outside in the spring. Take advantage of the 12/12 period in the spring. hopefully able to produce enough to put some back for when I run low on regular production.

Why wouldn't you just run 4-5 DE lamps and a 24k-36k btu split system? Get some co2 and 1 carbon scrubber and call it a day. Use your OG cuts root and transplant in 1 gallon grow bag, top once 7 days after that, let veg out for another 21 days, then through those into 10 gallon pots and go into 12/12. Then tie the tops over at day 14 of flower. Will meet your yield goal pretty easy with a pretty short veg time.

Why the heck would you need 3 lbs a week for anyway?
Dude had a disease and many people he knows does. He says it right in the OP. Its like that where we all live, people just want to live with a little comfort and ease. Cannabis seems to do that to people. Where I live its HIV and Aids. Theses are cool fucking people that need the medicine. It might sound funny to and not real to people looking from the out side in, but its real fucking life. Most of these folks cant afford 10-17 a gram , so when you can get it for them for $4.45 a gram it helps them and means the world.

No, he doesn't say somebody has a disease. All he said is some dude wants 3lbs a week. And 3lbs a week is a helluva lot more than just medicine.

Cant afford to buy cob lights, but can afford the electric bill for 12 pounds a month.

Something fishy here.

In fact, i call bullshit altogether. If youre growing in even a little 3x3 space it isnt hard to figure out the math on growing 3 lbs a week. So that question is just to get attention.

Doing the math on growing 3 lbs a week is one thing, but actually doing it is a different matter entirely. Fuck...trimming that much bud alone is almost a weeks' work for most people. Where is the time to do all the rest? 3lbs a week is much more than space for it, money for it... etc... need the man power too...

You are past basic temperature control at this scale and into the arena of climate control. The running costs are covered by the product, the capital not. Sounds like you need to decide between growing lots of crappy weed with environmental risks, or aim smaller and get everything you need to perfect things. This will include insulation, air filtration, heating/cooling, (CO2 if you don't want the AC to keep up with the air the extractor is pulling to keep plants supplied with atmospheric CO2).

How big is your crew? This is too much for one guy.

Not to mention I have a full time job as well. One thing that makes it easier is I have a bud trimming machine.
For example last night I processed a lb of weed in about 3 hrs
More or less that will be around the dry weight when it comes off the drying rack for the last time.
Many nights I only sleep for 3 hrs because I'm busy.

Another thing my question is to those who have done it and not pretenders like yourself who contribute nothing. I'm an outside gorilla grower who dables on the inside.
My Inside dabling prob means to you a full scale grow op but to me it's nothing.

So your saying it should be nothing to buy 27,000 watts worth of cob lights?

12000w flower plus 1600w veg, plus a good grower will net you 24 pounds every 2 months

This is just light. this doesn't include ac fans ecu's etc

Uh huh...
Okay.

So 3 lbs a month is dabbling to you...meaning to imply that your outside ops are much bigger?

Man...the bullshit is getting to thin to shovel. Man the pumps...

My grow rooms I have now are all insulated, fans, air conditioning/ heat, exhaust fans with filters etc
Problem is one room is a stadium grow seven foot wide 12 foot long 5 shelves on each side with lights hanging in the middle on a light mover.
Other flower room has traditional 1000 watt lights in wings and it is twelve foot wide and around 20 foot long. Both rooms are 8 foot tall. I don't think those 2 rooms could be capable of producing 3 lbs a week when rotation plants in/out on a weekly basis. I have enough space to do 12 lbs a month in another spot but I would have to put up walls, with insulation etc.
Crew size would be me. I cannot depend on anybody but myself. I've hired 2 in the past and both times it cost me.

Okay.

If you can't contribute don't post. If all you can do is pretend on dreaming big that's fine.

Here is something for you to look at. This is just one of my spots I have as I have several.

Taken in early July and I topped these 3 times on a ladder. I had around 80 maybe more of these size plants. Lost a lot to termites but still got a bunch of weed. 20170719_103834.jpg

IMG_20171126_204947.jpg some of the bud I was doing last night that was from outside. This is the bud I salvaged from the cold. Some plants froze others made it. Not enough light this late in the year to pack on weight but I had enough plants to be able a lb dry when it cures.

Maybe I could snap you a nice little pic of stacks of vacuum sealed bags full of weed? Each a lb.

But after all if you can't run with the big dogs get off the porch.

Anybody can download pics off the net and post em.

But why would anybody post a pic of that sad sad "stadium" grow. Thats embarrassing, big dog.

Good luck with your solo 12lbs a month.

But here is some help for you.

300 sq ft + 15000w HID for flower = 12 lbs month.

Harvest 35ish sq ft for 3 pounds each week.

Ypu better get started. You have lots of work to do.
