Ok so I’m working away from home and before I left I had confirmed that all but two of the blue Ripper seeds have opened. However after a few days of them being planted I still have six that haven’t popped up through the dirt yet. So I got my wife to send me some pictures and saw that the dirt was saturated with water :o. I asked her to dig up a seed that hadn’t sprouted up and although it had cracked and started a tap root the green end had rotted :-(. I then got her to dig up the others and it was the same for three more :-(. There were also the two blue rippers that never did crack open.

So basically I’m left with two Blue Rippers, three Blue Ripper x Blue Pyramid and four Blue Harley for a total of nine healthy seedlings. I told my wife not to water again until the pots dry out quite a bit and get lighter.

I was going to plant more to make up for the loss but I’m thinking that germination will only be done by me in the future so the nine healthy plants I currently have are going to be it for this grow. Oh well let’s just hope for two females of each type. If I end up with six females, I will be more than happy.

Shit I wasn’t getting updates that posts were being made here! Lol. I was visiting other grow journals but not my own.

But as to my light choice, I’m choosing the the hortilux because I have used them in the past and already have everything set up for it. However I would like to try LED of some sort eventually. Maybe when I build my perminent grow room. But that’s not going to happen anytime in the near future. Since we are planning to move in the near future.

As for the seedlings, today 5/5 BRXBP , 5/5 Blue Harley and 3/5 Blue Ripper have cracked and are planted. Just waiting to see them pop up now. I’ll give the other two Blue Ripper seeds a couple more days to open before I germinate a couple more to replace them.

I can hardly wait until they come up so I can start posting pictures.
No problem. Its still in the 80 range. It actually hit 84.99 for a day just after i ordered lol. You can see the price graph here https://keepa.com/#!product/6-B002JLE6HG. The site is really useful for watching Amazon prices, you can set thresholds to get alerts when items drop in price.

I really need to make some time to start my journal. Everything is documented offline, I started with 10 seeds and all 10 germinated. 4 Strains from Canuck.

9 plants is still good! with the ACMPR do you know what counts as a "plant"? Can I have clones/mothers and still have my limit in flower?

Don't let the dirt dry out too much. Let it dry out 1 or 2 inches then water lightly to keep it damp, you dont want to stress the tap root out too much but still want it to stretch down to the moist dirt lower down.

With the ACMPR I’m allowed 15 plants in any form, seedling, mother, clone Veg or flowering. I wish the limit was only applicable to flowering plants but it’s not.

As for the watering, I’m just trying to get the wife to slow down a bit as I don’t want her to kill the remaining nine plants with her kindness. Lol.

I just checked out that site and they got a lousy selection of cheap lights and when I checked out the AN nutes I use their prices were about 20% higher than the hydro store in Edmonton where I've bought a lot of stuff the last 15 years. That free shipping ain't really free. :)
Hey which store in Edmonton do you prefer? I bought some stuff at TnT yesterday because it has really good prices. I think Hydrolite had better prices for rockwool than TnT.
I have bought AN nutes at both, never compared prices, the time I got them at TnT I was going to buy Remo nutes but the owner talked me out of it. He said all of the customers that tried Remo complained and switched back to AN or Emerald Triangle.

I am also allowed 15. My ultimate goal is to have 3 mother's of different strains with similar flowering periods. I would like to alternate strains and harvest 4 clones every 4-5 weeks.

Sorry for taking up space on your journal, hope to see pictures of your grow.

Don’t worry about taking up space there is lots of room.

My plan is to have 3 mothers as well with 4 clones and 12 plants flowering for a total of 19 plants that I will be allowed in June  thanks to the legalization thing next year. It should let me cycle more than enough to keep me nicely medicated and even have a little left over for recreational :bigjoint:.

As for Remo Nutrients, I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again..... that is if the Mega Crop doesn’t work out.

Edit: I will post pictures as soon as I get home. This grow is going to be a difficult grow due to the fact that I am away from home so often because of work travel. My wife will be doing quite a bit of the work but she isn’t a person with a green thumb at all but she tries and I appreciate everything she is doing to help me. I should be home Sunday or Monday and I will get some pics up then.

I get my gear from Andre at All Seasons just off Whyte Ave. I don't shop around and if it costs a bit more to buy there then that's the cost of trusted customer support I guess and I'm happy to pay it.

I've used AN since '01 and never had any problems. I just don't buy into all the BS supplements but since getting the pH Perfect 3-part I'll never change. Screw the haters. This stuff works just fine and I don't ever think about checking pH much less actually check it. Just so f'n easy and fits my lazy-ass lifestyle pH Perfectly! ;)

$40/gal last year and I'm good for a few years now. I would have to replace my pH pen at least twice using junk nutes like GH. My 5yo one waits for me to spark it up someday. lol

:peace:

You're both blessed to have your women helping out. Mine does but doesn't like it much. She used to like a puff of keif then curl my toes up with . . . Never mind. perv.gif

Every year I take off to the coast to see my 90yo mom and other family for a few weeks and she'll keep them alive but that's it.

50 freakin' chickens get treated like royalty but a few plants!?

Count your blessings boys and don't forget the ball and chain come Xmas!

18 years last July 17 for us.

I got an 8g/day recommendation from my doc so if I get legal I can do 39 plants indoors. I like breeding a few strains so not enough for me. :)

Fug 'em all and I'll just keep doing what I've been doing for almost 50 years since my first tiny buds in '78.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em! circle.gif

My old lady doesn't have a green thumb either, but she managed to keep my 3 plants alive while I was in the hospital with a collapsed lung a couple weeks ago. Wife likes the smoking part more than growing.

When I came home the dog had killed all but 9 chickens. I can't even shoot a rifle right now. Lucky for him and the whitetails.

If ever ever ever, any of you where to get checked for "plant count" explain that plants in flower only produce bud/fruit..

All other farmers have mothers and clones ready to go in. I have been around once or twice.8-)

I am an idiot and cant seem to find info in the ACMPR regs about what counts as a "plant". Doesn't make sense that all phases be counted.

I have never heard of any type of inspection for the general applicant, HC cant even handle applications right now let alone try to coordinate inspecting 40k people.

My wife of 16 years is no green thumb but always helps out ( 8 hours of transplanting this weekend and she stay up til 6am with me!)

Sorry Thc, We are messing up your grow journalbongsmilie. There seems to be 2 different Grow Journals on this site. Like here you can start a regular thread but at the top of the page there is a Grow Journal button and the format is a bit different, not sure which she be used?

You too with the collapsed lung eh. My right one has done that twice now. Last time was a couple years back. Still smoking those g-damned cigs tho.

Well there are 2x Blue Rippers, 2x Blue Ripper x Blue Pyramid and 4x healthy Blue Harley and one more not to healthy looking (I think it is still suffering from when they were overwatered).

Here is a picture of them in their pots. I ended up using a 2:1 ratio of “ProMix HP Mycorrhizae” and coarse perlite.

I am finding HP needing watering often, 2 times a week and I didn't add anything extra either. Transplanted to 16L pots from the 6L and hopefully I get a longer break for the next couple of weeks until the roots fill up again.

Mixing nutes and adjusting PH was killing my back using those 5 gallon camping containers. Went and got a 60L container and a small pump to circulate, made it much easier.

I have 2 bales of Promix HP one from Nov 2016 and one from March 2017, both PH measures at 6.3 when I added RO and did a sludge test. I put in nutes at 5.7 and the run off is always 6.2-6.3.

Well the seedlings have really been liking the their new dirt and pots that they were transplanted into after the great overwatering of 2017. The day after I transplanted them they absolutely took off and have been growing crazy fast ever since! I’m pretty impressed with the recovery.

Also I forgot to mention that my 21.7lb bag of free Greenleaf Nutrients “Mega Crop” has arrived. I will start feeding this weekend or early next week. This should be interesting to see how the plants like it. I really hope this stuff is good because if it is, 21.7lbs should last me a few years. Not bad for only $45 in shipping.

Lol, "the great overwatering" sounds like an apocalyptic event ;) Glad to see they turned around for you, looking good in there!
