Aphids

I just popped open 1 of the 4 bags of Gaia Green I bought locally about 2 months ago and it seems the owner of the store had kept them outside during the worst aphid year we have had in a long time. I have them everywhere in my flower room, and veg cabinet now. Great. The business operator will not accept a return.

My question is this; I have heard tell that once the temps get well below 0 deg C on the permanent outside (should be this week or next for me) I can just leave them outside for a week to kill the bugs in the bags? Or is this just another internet rumor, and I should toss the whole shebang?

I wouldn't usually care, but for 35$ a bag, I would like to save it if I can.

Thoughts?
