Why under "white" spectrums leaves say thanks to the light as if they pray!!? I ask because I noticed that under blurple spectrums it seems that leaves wheigh a ton and say hello to the ground!

Isn't it from too much light?
Need to move the lights up if so
I had a couple of my ladies doing it under my blurples.
I noticed it happens most often with white spec... few years ago I grown white and blurple spectrums together... the leaves of the white side was always more directed toward the lights.
Plus.. every grow journal I see I notice it happens most often whit white spec... of cource what I am saying is not definitive.. just my own statement! ;)

Am I right about it being a sign of too much light tho ya? If that's the case are white leds more intense? More efficient? Was the wattage similar with your experience?

I highly doubt it, at least for my situation. Temps when lights are on is usually 78.
It's actually more about the relationship between the temp and the humidity, commonly referred to as the heat index

water pressure in plants is called turgor, it's what makes them stand up and move. It is affected by many factors. Leaves prating is a sign of high turgor and indicates a high transpiration rate which is basically the plant cooling itself in simple terms but it can be more complicated than that

In pot forums it usually means the light is too close because that seems to be a thing with most pot growers

The ability for leaves to follow the light (I think its called phototropism) or "pray" is triggered by green light, If I'm not mistaken. Blurple lights have no green.

Well I'm "most pot growers" and the heat stress above comment is assuming stuff not applicable here.

Flat leaves pointing up is usually genetic or can also be a sign the plant is needing magnesium.

The leaves look stressed when it's a deficiency and happy when it's genetic. Also changing light distance won't change the praying leaves. And you don't want to as more light without heat stress is what the plants want. The results get worse with less light. We grow a high light class plant. That means they like direct all day sunlight.

When the leaves "taco" and the edges turn up is when there is a transpiration problem. Like a "v" on each leaf.

If the " blurple" makes them look unhappy and "white" happy maybe the spectrum is bad?

Because I use hps and see this (or not if not genetic) too.

They point the leaves up to allow the light to go deeper into the canopy is what I've been told a few times. Not too much light but sufficient amounts . Optic foilar will make them pray and its description is increasing photosynthesis. Just a side note.

Or maybe she's happy to see you.... Oh wait LMAO

Some wrong assumptions and some interesting theories as well.
From my experience they do this usually when they are healthy ( as it's the opposite of droopiness & dry leaves ), so we know they are transpiring nicely.

I love what Stephen said, it makes a lot of sense, as my top leaves are erecting most and I can see my inner branches growing better. ( my plants are erecting atm)'. Why not spread the love to the brothers below? :D

Could it be that they are transpiring so well that they aim up to capture any rain droplets and guide them to the base of the main stem?
Just another silly thought out to get minds thinking, not a fact. :)

Sorry for picture color but this is what we are talking about yes? This is ok?
The plants with the most pointed up leaves also are showing the "taco" or "V" to the leaves with the edges folding up as well a bit.

Looks like heat stress. It's not too bad but the leaves are trying to retain moisture from too much transpiring.

But if the praying leaves were flat and happy it is usually genetic like the links provided say and a good sign they are growing fast.

Ones in the front right may be a tad too close to the light?
