Beware. All the same things were said about the Nazis. Fascism appeals greatly to the stupid, the desperate and those looking for someone to blame. Take the threat seriously.

um, that would be 35% and the EC who was here to protect us from making a mistake.

perhaps mueller's pressure will make him self impeach?
If you include all the eligible citizens who didn't vote, that 35% goes way up. Either way, it doesn't really matter. This is the face of the US and we'll be judged accordingly:

The rest of us are stupid for not emptying into the streets and screaming for our government back, because it's been stolen from us by the elites - who are running it completely for their own self interest, the needs of the other 99% of us be damned.

That's what it's going to take. The Progressive Movement will be toyed with and stymied until We the People get fed up with being lied to, used and manipulated and demand an end to it, mass protest style.

We outnumber them by a thousand to one, which won't matter as long as we continue to let ourselves be fooled/outsmarted.

It started yesterday with one man.

If you're referring to the shooting of the congressman, NO. That's how we end up with an unapologetically authoritarian government.

We must bring the ultra rich to heel.

They're the ones who are buying our political system, telling Presidents to do things that endanger the entire human race (Paris Climate Accord, arming Saudi Arabia and Qatar, among others) and impoverishingthe rest of us and our children.

Shooting them won't work, either.

Couldn't hurt.
Yes, shooting them would be counterproductive.

They already feel completely entitled, it's that sense of being better than the rest of us great unwashed that needs to be stamped out. Violence will only reinforce it, and with it justification for being even harsher on the rest of us.

Sustained non-violent mass protest is the most powerful force in the political world.

Like we talked of a few days ago its stockholm syndrome... at one time the american worker seen and showed that the ultra wealthy needed him and her more than visa versa, they have now been duped into that and they went from doing well to being the working poor...

I agree, but effectivly i think we're finally going to see some common sense gun laws. I wish this would have happened years ago, before every granny, dick and Sue bought an AR15.

When the system crashes they will be hunted.
While this is likely true, we don't WANT the whole system to crash.

Humans have made that mistake many, many times before and everybody died.

That's not a solution, because the only difference between the failed civilisations of the past and that of today is that they were local or regional, where ours is global and there will be no one left on Earth to start over- and there won't be any resources left, either.

One way out is to colonise space. That's why I'm doing research to help develop the technology needed to live off planet permanently.

Another way out is to bring the rich to heel by taking away their power and outsized wealth. Then we're all in it together and we can work together to save our planet and make it a better place for all of us and our great grandchildren.

And colonise space anyway.

This is correct. We the People don't need the rich; they need us.

The sooner we remember that and act accordingly, the better off our nation and our children will be.
