I like how you think. The filter performance is more dependant on the static pressure it can maintain. More to do with fan design and quality than cfm rating.

Sorry bud I didn't mean for those questions to come across as a negative critique or anything.
Just curious is all.
I always thought the bigger the area the more air the bigger the filter n fan.
My cabinet is roughly the same size as yours and I only use a 4" filter. I was able to remove my loud ass fan and now only have a 4.5" ball bearing pc fan and smell isn't an issue.
Nah its cool dude. Didn't mean to sound upset or anything.

Think of the larger filter as having more holes. More holes makes the larger filter easier on the fan.

I know you went cobs and it makes it cooler.

I want to go cobs and was fixing to order some. My brother in law had some stuff happen and needs some money. I am going to give it to him so it will be a bit before I get cobs.

To be honest the filter is bigger than I expected. Its weird how you can take a tape measure and know the dimensions and it still surprise me.

I may cut a hole in the top and build a box. I think it will fit in the top and not lose any space.

The main reason is that its illegal here and the cops have knocked on the door for various reasons.

I cant have a failure.

How do you choose the males?
And how do you go about sexing within this setup?
What size pots are they in at that stage?
Cheers!

Mm sounds intriguing!
I have a veg cab and flower cab.

I just move all of them from the veg cab to the flower cab.

At this moment I was using my veg cab for starting outdoor seeds. It is set at 13/11. I moved the males back to the veg cab.

Selecting males goes by what you want or need. I look at structure, flowering time, smell, etc.

You can separate males and put in a window sealing enough to get pollen.

I have a pollen filter on my flower cab. As long as I remove them from the cab before pods open then its all good.

Just have to be careful or you get a lot of seeds.

Ah thanks!!
And how much soil are they in? Do you then transplant the females into larger pots?

I haven't been doing pictures. With the uncertainty of what's going to happen with legality of cannabis I decided to hold off a bit.

I guess it doesn't matter it wasn't legal here anyways. Though they have been lax about the cannabis laws here. I'm not sure if the state here will start to pursue it harder.

Anyways, I harvested about 12 gallons of worm castings and vermi compost.
