Fan Speed to keep down smell?

I have a 2'x4'x5' tent with a 6'' max pro and filter attached. However, I kinda got ahead of myself and cracked 4 different strains in it. Now I'm concerned that I might have to run it full blast to keep down the smell. Anyone know if I can just run it on low for smell control? I already built an mdf box around the fan and use a controller, but can still hear this thing running through the door. Thanks guys.

Smell control doesn't necessarily depend on fan speed. The fan only needs to be working strong enough to create negative pressure in the tent i.e. The sides of the tent are sucked in. As long as you see that the air is moving in the right direction and being scrubbed through your filter.
Fan speed is also a way to control temperature in your tent but for smell you just need negative pressure. Not too much though. Once you get it "dialed in" you'll have a balance of temp control and negative pressure.

Chef420 said it all. Bang on. As long as your filter is quality and replaced when needed you will be fine.
Regarding the noise, fans run at 50hz and that hum is one of the hardest sounds to stop, it can travel through brick.

Yeah It's a pain, i picked up some insulated ducting I'll eventually add to my setup. Thank you

So I just had a look and is that fan pushing 420 CFM on high? What size of pipe you running, 6"?
It's max speed is 420 cfm, however I use a 15 amp controller and keep it real low. Just running it enough for negative pressure. The max fan I have is a 6'' fan so I am using 6'' ducting. I'm also checking out the vortex s-line for my veg tent. That thing looks bad ass! I bet with insulated ducting and an MDF box it's a whisper.

It just amazes me that fan manufactures use 6" for 450 CFM. The noise from the velocities alone are ridiculous. 450 is 1/3 of most big home furnaces lol.
