I live outside US so amazon will not ship all the products i need,
I have managed to get GH flora Trio(Doesn't say "hard water" on the bottle) and i have ordered
Botanicare Hydroguard Bacillus Root Inoculant but my order didn't come through, what other products that i can order that will prevent root rot???
as my water temperature can go around 73 sometimes, and i want something to help with preventing root rot in case it happens, also to help with roots growth.
Shall i order Cal+Mag ?

Thanks in advance for your time to help.

im nearly 50 days into my first DWC grow.

GH flora trio is a great brand of neuts from what ive read, if your using LED lights or RO water then cal+mag and mirco neuts are essential.
For me personally using just tap water ive not needed any cal/mag supplements or any root rot preventives.
Just remember in DWC you have alot less room for error, less is always better than too much.
Its really easy as a first timer to read all the info and stock up on a whole load of unneeded products lol

Thank you for you fast response.

actually i am using 250 watts MH with CFL and one small 15 watts LED. and the water I'm using is bottled water they sell in supermarkets, dont know what it is called. but my concern is heat, i dont want this to create problems for me later on, im thinking about a preventive solution, i guess i will stick to what u say and try, hope it will work for me.

That bottled water if similar to mine comes at about 7.8ph and has mag/cal and a load of other things already in it. If the main problem is heat I would deffo look at other ways to reduce heat inside your grow such as a good exhaust altho ive even heard of people putting ice packs around the DWC to reduce water temps.
When i was starting my DWC and was getting info root rot seemed to be an absolute monster of a problem and lots of people spoke of there experiences with it.
Guess im lucky not to of experienced any of those problems yet, my tent has been running at 30c-33c since switching to a HPS and still not noticed any ill effects, will check my water temp later and reply back just so u have an idea.

i have a large grow room, so im not worried about ventilation issues and temperature inside the room is 25 tops, but the top feed pipes im using are transparent, and something slimy starts to form inside on them, i guess i should paint them black or tape them somehow,

yeah taping them up should help but ive been running a clear res in my loft and altho the algae is plentiful ive still yet to see any negative effects from it but then again im a fxing noob lool

Why are you using top feed? No need with DWC. Hand water with a turkey baster a couple times a day for the first few days until roots are out of the net pots and they're fine. Need coloured lines if you are going to top feed. I run nutes from my tubs up into the cooler tank on my DIY chiller and they were getting that algae growing in them too but it didn't seem to hurt anything. Can always just wrap electrical tape around them.

I used to use peroxide to keep the nasties at bay until I built the chiller from a water cooler so don't do that any more. I've always used AN nutes since '01 and now with the pH Perfect stuff it's even easier and I never bother checking pH.

I've never use any of these inoculants so can't help you there.

Good luck!

i have seen some plants using pirana, and other products like voodoo juice, and results are astonishing, and i have been reading about the beneficial bacteria since 11 hours now non stop, from what i understood, there is 2 types to make your roots clean and rot free, one is by using peroxide like products and the other way is by using beneficial bacteria and enzyme.

so you guys think i will be okay without using any of the methods above ? taking into concentration that GH flora trio is all what i have now.

Thank you guys for your help on this.

there is so much misinformation and hyped up fallacy around growing that it can be difficult for newbies to get the correct information. Although everything you mention is more than likely sound I feel you could end up in too deep if you were to follow it all to a tea.
Trial and error would be the best learning experience for ya, I know alot of it is preventive measures but companies rely on this fear in order to peddle unneeded products.
I think with your GH trio, observation and plenty of TLC you should just be fine.
Best of luck anyways bruh

Voodoo is $100L here so I never tried that yet. Along with base nutes I use Big Bud, Rhino Skin and OverDrive at the end of flowering. Any old CalMag will do and I use low doses of that. Bit of epsom salts here and there as well. Tried some Bud Ignitor with this grow and it seems to help too but also expensive.

Not bad price but I won't buy any GH products especially since they got bought by Scotts Miracle-Gro/Monsanto. They've always denied that they make their products for growing pot so just for that I have never bought a GH product except for their GO Box organic kit that I didn't like and most of it has sat in the basement for the last 5 years.

Would like a good inoculant for my semi-soil grown plants tho.

GH trio is all you need along with Silica and Cal/Mg. all the other AN crap is just that, overpriced crap in a fancy bottle.

well every person has his different circumstances, in my case i have 15 gallon res, and if i need to change water every week 250 ml bottle will last me the whole grow or even 2, i just love the idea that you dont have to check your PH, man i purchase the PH celebration solution for 30$, i could of saved that along with PH meter cost, any way, thank you for making me feel confident that GH trio will work for me. :) have a good one

i would still check pH at least daily. it is about the most important thing to have a successful DWC grow. good luck!

I've used AN nutes for 16 years now and since using the pH Perfect ones have done 4 DWC grows and a couple dozen plants in soilless/soil without ever checking pH once and never seen a sign of deficiencies or pH related problems.

When you can do a whole DWC run from clone to crop without ever changing nutes and have it be as good as the tub beside it that gets two full changes that says something to me. Lots less work and worry and much more mileage out of my nute bottles is a good thing. Using pure water like distilled or RO makes it all work easy.

I've done around 50 tubs with up to 16 plants in one tub and never lost a crop in 16 years. Can get over a half pound from one plant doing DWC ScroG so I know it works.

My current upcoming crop is doing not too bad either with a couple weeks to go. Grown in a 50/50 mix of ProMix HP and their potting soil mix and AN nutes.

i would still recommend a noob to check pH daily.

have you ever had root rot (pythium) ? if so, is your pH still as stable?
when i first started dwc and had some root rot, my pH was all over the place.

i'm a dyna gro guy. way cheaper than AN and just as pH stable IMO.

Should think about getting a water chiller bro.

I'm actually running a Current Culture H2o 4xl system right now, and the key to it guys is keep it Cold (65-68 degrees) and try to maintain that coldness and keep it Clean (dirt, clean room etc. etc.). The way to do it is get a Water Chiller. I always add "UC Roots" from beginning to end of grow. As far as beneficial things I've used "Mycostop" and I'm currently trying out "Mammoth P" in this current grow I'm in. Always try to use clean stable nutrients, and watch your ppm's. Just trying to help... Happy Growing!
