You're on your own from here on in Kate. The circus is starting and I've already seen the show.

Like anything, do your due diligence. If you have any other questions you can message me. The health Canada site has everything you need to know. Growing with out a license is still illegal. Call the rcmp or a lawyer, they will confirm.

May the force be with you.

Getting 'approved' is a separate issue, basically you need someone who sees you regularly to either authorize you to use medical cannabis, or refer you to someone who will.

Unfortunately many cannabis 'clinics' charge outrageous sums for approval, generally more so if you want to grow at home. So it all depends on who you can find / how much you can pay.

Once you get your documents signed, you will send your ACMPR registration in, the anecdotal wait time seems to be 1 - 2 months.

You are not 100% 'legal' until you register in the ACMPR, but the courts generally show great reluctance to prosecute people with genuine medical need. This is generally mostly a concern for people who are growing.

This forum has its share of trolly behaviour, but most of it comes from a place of 'this works for me, so I want to convince other people it can work for them'. Some are mainly here to stir unrest (the first post in a thread telling of how terrible the forum is, for example) but they are easily weeded out, no pun intended.

Thanks for your concern, but he has been the verry helpful and curious so far. Nobody likes a tattle tail GB123. I've been reading through the posts, I think I know who the bully's and trolls are. Seems there is a lot of " your either with us or against us here" and a lot of disinformation and fear mongering. Personally I want to play by the rules and by the book, and it seems irrelevant where I get my cannabis from. Seems I have many more choices than I thought. I will defiantly be doing my due diligence when I choose my source of cannabis. The logical source seems to be from an approved dealer with checks and balances when it comes to the production of the cannabis. What rules do the dispenceries follow?

You can buy into the regulation halo if you choose, but the fact is no one has ever been documented to be gravely sick or die from dispensary product. As I said, some dispensaries do test their product, and will let you know if they do if you ask.

If you're ok with buying product from farmer's markets without lab tests, dispensaries really aren't much different.

I have a question.

Who would you report getting sick from dispensary weed to, and who would keep those records?

Thank you JungleStrikeGuy, I buy most my fresh produce from local farmers when I can. I know these farmers and trust them. Seems to me that I'm buying second hand from an unknown source with dispenceries, not from the cannabis grower. Isn't it best to buy from the source? How do I find out who the growers are and cut out the middle man? I fail to see the issue buying from the growers who follow strict growing regulations. What am I missing?

Dispensaries are very much 'middlemen', buying directly from a grower is pretty much the designated producer option. All depends on what you are comfortable with.

The issue people have with licensed producers is as much cultural as it is practical, but the most reasonable criticism would be that they sell a product at vastly inflated prices due to the artificial barrier of entry imposed by the 'strict regulations'. You don't need a bank wrapped in a prison, as is mandated by the ACMPR/MMPR to grow a plant.

At the end of the day it really only matters what works best for you, LP's are one option but they certainly aren't the only one. Just remember that when people tout the supposed benefits of 'strict regulation', we're talking about a plant, and a plant that has no lethal dose / has never contributed to a death.

Well that's totally possible. but to get that sweet deal you need to pick a side. Because you won't get that info buying Lp weed. You need to join the culture or you won't get the sweet deals. I know,,, but only tell those who qualify.
As soon as you say " oh I might as well buy from any Lp because they are trusted " your out of the game. In other words, in order to be invited in, you need to side with those who can help you. Masky boy is not one of those folks who will ever get that deal. Because he can't admit when he's wrong and his failure.
