First Grow Journal

Hey guys, Today I went to my local hedge shop and picked up some more magic beans and decided I'm going to do a Bubba Kush grow journal to keep track of this strain as I have tried the finished product and would like to master this strain. I will be doing a 400w cfl scrog with a 1 month beg time under a 200w cfl. And the flower stage will be under 400w equivalent cfl lighting. My medium is going to be Gaia Green Living Soil Blend. No clue what pot size I want yet but we will go with the flow. I will be trying to post daily so Here we go :)

Day 1: Germination Process

Alright. So I'm just going to do the basic Germination process with water, papertowel and a zip lock baggie then just toss em in my dresser drawer for a day and see if they've popped :)

How long did you leave them in a glass of water for? Did you have trouble getting them to sink? My seeds right now a floating at the top and have been in the water for 4 hours already.

I never actually put em in a water dish I just wet a paper towel and fold it over and always have 100% success rate.

Looking good. I'm flipping out as I'm at the same stage as you. Got impatient and put 2 seedlings in crap dirt, have yet to sprout been 5 days now. The other 2 are in good soil. Been only 3 days. The waiting game....

Yes sir I hate it haha but soon they turn into these :3 this is my current grow looking real nice kinda wished I scroged these but I was afraid to top an auto flower so I kinda let em just go and fed them haha

If you bury the seed a little bit deeper next time, it should sprout without the casing on. I had that problem when i started growing and since I changed the depth of the seed when I put it in soil, I don't have that happen anymore. If you try to remove them again, it's suggested you use warm water to help loosen up the casing. Good luck! I'll be around.

Nice, I swear we are at the same point and having the same problem. My seeds just popped two with cases still on ! Good luck hoepefully the babies get a nice spurt !

6 days later and bam we got full sized seedlings :D now the fun begins! This is my first time with a living soil blend so I will see how this works out I've noticed its attracted fruitfly's so I have dealt with that issue. Other than that everything is great and my other grow is starting to look really tasty :)

On this grow do you plan to Scrog them? My experience with cfl growing is best when Scrog, due to the effective light losses as the plant stretches in flower and raising the light causing way less light to reach the lower sites. Losses the effective foot print coverage much faster than led or hid when height from plant sights does really matter for fluorescence. I plan to watch your grow, I had my own cfl setup that I built but I converted to using led. way less of a heat fluctuation in a tent, at least in my case.
