Gosh, This is why I like politics....So many have no idea of political reality!

Influence by focused media and he said/she said prevails.

All you "smart" fools, who were never around to actually experience life before Reagan. have no idea how political parties actually are supposed to work. Reagan sowed the seed and Newt took the party system to levels of hate and mistrust to cause what we have now - non working government that only see's what they want.....

In the good ol days. It was Dem vs. Rep. each had policies they wanted to forward. Someone was elected. The people and parties left ideals behind. Everyone sat down, worked together, and GOT things done!

Oh, and BTW...the Trump folks would have taken the streets in far bigger numbers!

"W" stole the election! And Hillery will go down in history as being the second candidate that lost after winning the popular vote!

The creation of Isis thing was brought around by "W" and his destabilization of the middle east. This gave way to the "Arab spring" and the fall of governments that allowed the Isis thing to happen...TRUTH!
"W" took office with a balanced budget! He created the largest US debt in history at the time..TRUTH!
The "great recession" happened in "W's" term. It was made possible by policy and legal changes HE made! (with a nod to Reagan). TRUTH!

I'm SO tired of voting for the lessor evil! Especially when the bigger keeps winning!

Well at least the globe will get warmer so all those in the north can grow longer.....:wall:
They have been divided and conquered, have some pity for them Dr.

No one is "rioting and looting"!!! It's called protest! Open your eye's and see the truth!

When Obama won. The republican party simply voted against the vast majority of anything Obama wanted to do. His policy was ignored! That's acting like a child!

Many leading Dems have come FORWARD to Trump and said basically, "hey, what can I do to get us working together for the good of the people and the country!'' At least some one is trying to cooperate!

One city! One protest! The rest of the country was peaceful!

Figures though! West coast,,,,what ever happened to peaceful hippies?

Now what do you think would have happened with the Trump folks? He said it was rigged!

Why did Michigan's biggest Democrat reporting/voting area's election server's go down? I hear there were other problems around the country with that too.....Russian hacking? Most likely not AND you don't hear anyone crying foul and "rigged" either, do you?

That protesting just goes to show that "disenfranchisement" is felt on both sides of the track.....don't you really think?

Not sure how many times I have to say this but I'm not a clinton supporter, I'm anti TRUMP. The man is pure evil and will not help anyone that he thinks is beneath him, which is pretty much everyone. You can all pray to your cheeto jesus with the bad weave but in the end you'll wake up I hope, you've been conned. I will no longer argue these false equivalences, once you wake up I'm sure most of his supporters will deny even voting for him.

The self-righteous rule out the possibility that they are what has gone wrong.

In 15 years this may be seen as the events needed to get people fucking angry enough to do something. People can still vote candidates out. We can demand more openness with who dared to propose legislative spending instead of hiding from it as they can now. Then hold them accountable. We Americans have short fuses, but short memories, too. Those running the show know this and they simply wait us out.

Maybe now we're angry enough to not forget so quickly
Have you considered that the People have done just that? Have you paid attention to the political vitriol or it's provokers for the past 15 years?

title says it all, the adamant forum admins(specifically one) has banned me for my support of donald trump. I go to get on today, and bam locked out. wtf kind of shit is that..really pisses me off having been an active supporter of that site for 7 years.
As a hated liberal I don't mind so much that Trump won, it's the other assholes like Christy and Pence that scare the fuck outta me. Also there's that Sessions dude, a prick outta the 18th century... but if Trump does his own thing maybe, just maybe it could be a good thing. I'm old anyway and probably won't be around by the time they invade the west coast.

The real fun part is that Trump will do about NONE of what he promised
yep!
i'm gonna sit back and watch. democrats can't be blamed for anything that happens in the next 4 years.

i'm still trying to figure out where the wall will be built. can't build it on mexico's side of the rio grande, can't build it in the middle of the river so it's got to be built on our side. which will effectively cut off farmers and ranchers from access to the river. sounds great!

Hi pergamum, thanks for the MMMA thread. Yep, apparently I am once again banished from the MMMA. I was banished back in 2011 by the then leader, Blueberry (Joe Cain?) for daring to suggest the Lansing protests would simply reinforce the Republican majority's aversion to anything mmj related.

This time I guess I was deemed unfit probably for offending Resto, or Mal, or Zap by asking what they had done with their lives to justify validating their biases. I also pointed out I have confronted Republicans many times in the past about their uninformed and counter factual opinions on mmj rather than the wail, rail and assail the Reublicans by the uber-Democrats on the MMMA site that Is inky sound and fury that accomplishes nothing.

For me the most beneficial part of the MMMA forums was the opportunity to exchange views with others whose experiences were far different than mine. I believe we all recognize the need for change. Sadly, if you can't change your own mind, you can't change anything.

Many overlooked that while Obama's approval ratings are over 50%, over two-thirds of Americans think the country is headed in the wrong direction. Look no further for evidence of a bipolar and bivided nation.

The measurement metric of the American economy I arrived at from my MMMA interactions is unchanged; average per capital net worth. That is the total of all our nation's net wealth divided by the number of citizens. And by that measure, the average American has been losing ground for nearly twenty years. It seemed unlikely another four years under Clinton would reverse that trend.

Indeed, the last eight have been particularly disappointing given the amount of stimulus injected into the economy from the additional ten trillion in federal debt, another five trillion in zero interest rate effect, and another five trillion benefit from the reduction of oil imports by five million barrels a day that resulted from fracking. In effect in spite of a seventy-five hundred dollar a year in per capital stimulus the average citizen's share of American, the country declined by sixty-thousands dollars. Ouch.

Worse is the ever larger mountain of unfunded liabilities. Our governments have pledged to make future payments of pensions and benefits that total more than the entire asset base of the country. When you are getting ever deeper into the hole, isn't it time to stop digging? And when you are heading in the wrong direction isn't it time to turn around?

Re-reading this thread, like most of the political threads on the MMMA is not reassuring. Will president Trump or a president Clinton for that matter reverse our decline? I doubt it. But while Americans on average have grown poorer these last eight years, income inequality and median wealth have widened. The rich have gotten richer and the numbers of poor have grown. Does anyone think a Clinton presidency would change that trend when Obama couldn't or didn't?

We have met the enemy and they are us. And from here it looks like they will triumph.

I was born in Detroit as a classic liberal Democrat just as I was a Catholic. I can still recall my grandfather not talking to my father for years following his decision to vote for Reagan in 1980. I've learned a lot on my travels around this globe over the past few decades and wouldn't consider myself either today. My daughters life experiences will be different than mine and I am proud of that.

It's really sad to see history repeat itself this way and know so many children are living through what I had ...

I do have to say FUCK THE MMMA!

They took in how fucking many millions in donations to get the legalization proposal on the ballet ?
They didn't get it on and pissed away the chance too in the first place!
The leader is a dick and his hang around buddy (the editor of high Times) had his hand in the till too!
So were did all that money go? Why can't they say?
I fucking testified in the hearings on the new bills taking effect on Dec 20! I was against them (except for the edibles and concentrates one)!

All I got outa that was raided and shut down! Bill Schutte don't like folks who testify against his side.
I get signed off of probation on Monday for that one.

I think it certainly can be called rioting in some places. They may not be stealing TVs but taking baseball bats to cars? These people are morons and not helping.

Breaking News:
Chicago Cubs are being forced to give up their World Series Title.

Cleveland Indians fans have rioted across the country in protest of the 2016 WS. Despite knowing the rules of the game prior to playing, they were unhappy they lost and have demanded the outcome to be changed. They could be heard chanting "Not Our World Series Champaion"

Even though the Cubs won 4 games to the Indians 3, the Indians are pointing to the fact that both teams scored 27 total runs throughout.

Did anyone riot and loot after Obama won twice?
That's a false equivalency. Did Obama brag about grabbing women by their pussy? Did he threaten to deport 15 million people? Did he threaten to stop people from coming to this country due to their chosen religion? Did a dozen women come forward accusing him of sexual assault? Did he get accused of raping a 13 year old girl?

No he didn't. He was guilty of having a Muslim sounding name, and conservatives ran around for 8 years with their hair on fire because they were just positive he was a Muslim born in Kenya without a valid birth certificate (Trump leading the charge). If we take Trumps campaign promises at face value then there is good deal of shit to be concerned about.

Is this is really what these United States have come down too.I don't like the outcome of an election so let's protest.Where the hell were you on Tuesday?,Did you vote?As Americans this is a Disgrace, the So-Called Leader of the Free World,Cannot accept a Democratic Vote.So Now Finally after all these years the World is going to say our elections are tainted, like some third world country? We just celebrated Veterens Day yesterday, and This is how we thank them?Look I am not an Ardent Admirer of Trump,But I was not excited about Hillary either, they are all politicians. And I hate all Politicians, none of them have our best interests at heart,Now stop the madness, endure the four years, and look to the next.Remember,A Government of the People,by the People, and for the People.Give the man a chance,See what he really does, then if you don't like it,fill the National Mall,I might just be there with you.
