I see alot of single diodes... for sure not the best.
full COB beats single diodes in efficiency and price.
Whats with the advertising mate?
You believe everything you read? Haha! You guys can talk about it, I'll be about it! One of those clusters will bang on any cob under 100w. You just don't know mang, you just don't know! Lol!

(still don't get it? You gonna ramble on again about how underdriven cobs have no penetration?)
Nope! Unlike you, I'm all about the results not the theories based on your receited readings.
I did choose to go with hard driven COBs though so to penetrate my girls better. 3 100 watt 3590's surrounded by Xp-G3 baby!image.jpg Got me 2 of these bad boys and boy are my ladies thanking me with bountiful bomb!

You do realize if you have 100,000 Lumens with hard driven COBS or 100,000 with low driven COBS your getting the same light right and same penatration...
As for your comment regarding single diodes, the price compared to cobs is 2 -3 x the cost which makes them sueless for our applications in large amounts.
As for the extra red you have a blues, I dont see a need. Have seen several tests regarding this. I dont see a need for singles when runnning cobs unless its for sleep.

I agree if the Cobs are closer together & ran at half power like my SE-450 that you will have the same depth to your penetration.
But DIY style spread 1' apart will not have as much depth in #'s.
As for reds n blues, they are what makes the full spectrum mimicing the sun & peaking in Cloro. I have noticed a differance in plant response. A big enough differance that I continue to buy these lights for that reason. I have done several spectrum & color tests over the year myself.

3500k cobs are full spectrum, meaning they cover all the same colors as those tiny 3 and 5w chips do.unless those lil chips are below 400nm and above 700nm its a waste of driver power.
900w of cobs spaced over 3 x3 area or 4x4 area will emit light deeper in the canopy than 900w of cobs clustered on a 18" x 24" frame.its simple physics.unless of course your canopy is only 18in x 24in then by all means cluster those cobs lol
