Man I seriously cant wait to see how 630w of CMH turns out in your garden!
Thanks, I'm really excited to see what this light is capable of. I have noticed quite a bit of positive growth both in veg and during flower thus far over my 600w hps. I also have noticed the plants seem hungrier than I'm used to.

I'm not looking to jack puffers thread though. I only posted pics since he asked. Hopefully his grow here sees equal if not better results than myself.

I have 2x LEC 315 from Sun system. I'm probably gonna get a 3rd for my 5x5; but last time I was kinda disappointed. That being said it was my first time on Hydro; i'm sure somebody with experience could have done better.

But i'm prob gonna get a 3rd for my 5x5, i'm sure 945w of LEC315 woudl do grand in my 5x5 for my 2nd run of hydro.

I dig these lights; I aint about to give up on them now.

(Plants were covored in trichs; just werent dense or big). They also spent most of the time at like 1900ppm; gonna drop that to like 1300.

It's really interesting how less really can be so much more. I've had significantly better results feeding quite a bit less than I had in the past. Plus I have paid heavily in the past density wise from light heat stress so I make sure I don't risk that either. I'm not sure what kind of hydro you are running but i gave up dwc years ago for coco and never looked back. I found it to be way to much work for me, and to much could go wrong. But it did turn out some monster plants

I'm gonna be bummed if the final product isn't better than the 600w hps. But thus far I'm digging it. I really like the fact that I can just run one 315 during veg and early flower to save on electricity.

Trust me friend (: Your gonna do better than your 600w hps.

Last lights I ran in my 5x5 was a 1000w hps next to my first 315 hps. I put my 1000w HPS into my 3x3 tent and grabbed a 2nd 315w lec for my 5x5; hoping it would be enough, For a 4x4 i'm sure its plenty, but the 5x5 has an extra 9ft^2; and can easily take another LEC315. I feel like I went from 1600w to 1200w, but I also ran that hydro tent at way too high PPM and had way too many tops per plant.

Next time i'm gonna run like 4 tops a plant with 3x LEC315, i'm sure thats gonna turn out grand!

Sounds like you have a solid plan

If you have a journal shoot me a link and I will follow that as well. Good luck in your next grow.

Here are a couple shots of my legal grow at day 19 flower. I used mainlining and super cropped up to the end of the second week to try and keep an even canopy. They are in 3.5 gallon coco hempy buckets.

Very nice brother! I did the same to my plants. I would normally scrog but this is my first run with the light so i want to see how the lower buds produce. I will have a pic up tommarow of my tent after 1 week flower. Gorilla is a nice tent though too! I couldn't bring myself to pay that price. I have a ton of light leaks from the zippers and random spots. This is my second lighthouse hydro tent. The first is better quality imo. I have the windows blacked out so its not that big if a deal. I need to set up an automated water system in the next week or so. I like the hempy idea though. I got soil in 5gl root pouch bags.

After 1 week flowering. I expected more stretching this first week. It hasn't been much at all. The temps were a bitch this week, but i kept it under control. I started to notice some heat stress on a few of the highest leaves. I raised the light a bit more, but lowered them to about 24in above the canopy this morning.

please check out my grow

my first run with ceramics i ran 2 315's over my 4ftx6ft f&d table and yielded 800 grams dry, then i ran 3x 315's over the same table and added 5 5 gallon dwc buckets on the left side of the table, the buckets only recieved indirect light as all 3 315's wer hung inline over the center of the 4x6 table so in total area was closer to a 6ftx6ft coverage. anyways after 7 weeks of flowering i pulled in a little over 1300 grams dry.. so 2 315's got me a 1.3 gpw total and 3x 315's got me a 1.45 gpw total.. anyways running 3x 315's will easily cover your 5x5 grow, it may be overkill, 2 315's over the 5x5 is more than enough as each 315 has a coverage of about 4ftx4ft at 2ft above canopy..grow well and be well

question to those of you who have the 630 watt 2 bulb lec lamps... do you feel you may have been better off buying 2 315 watt hoods over 1 630 watt fixture? i mean 2 315's can cover a much larger area by being hung 3ft apart or so, or you can splitt them up if needed.. also with the 630 watt double can you run only 1 bulb at a time or do both need to be running? i ask because ive been watching a big grow op in co that is using 315 watt lec's all set 4ft apart 3ft above canopy to cover a 5,000 sq ft grow..i asked why not use the 630 watt fixtures and was told they would be less efficient..just curious..

Definitely am going to take a close look at your thread!

It was my first run on hydro i'm sure that is my main issue. Plants looked healthy but i let them get too big with too many tops at too high PPM hah

Thanks man. Things look like they are going well for you.

I suspect you will see a benefit in quality in the lower portion of your canopy. Depending of course on the overall vertical size they end up.

The main benefit I have found for the gorilla tent is the additional vertical height additions that brings them up to a little under 8'. It literally is touching my ceiling, so i can run the light higher. That limits bringing anything out of the top of the tent though. But I have no need for that option. But like most tents it's not totally sealed from light. I still keep it in a dark room with the door cracked to prevent excess humidity.

I suck at soil and think coco hempys are super easy. If you decide to switch and need any advice let me know.

Not in my case. I got a great deal on the 630 so I saved in overall light costs. I also have less stuff to deal with around my home. It seems to be perfect for my smaller area and I can just switch on one bulb during veg to save on electricity.

If I was running something industrial I would consider quite a few different variables.

I dont think 2 315w would do any better in a 4x4 tent area. And it would be crowded if you had a carbon scrubber and fans ect. In the tent. If your not in a tent or the area is slightly larger i waould say go for it. 315w might be enough for a 4x4.... maybe. Like you said a 315w could replace a 600w hps. Well the 630w is up there with a 1000w! So why would you want to put a 315w when you can use a 630w for a tent application.

i see your point,, and for sure 630 watts will pull in a bigger yield...please let me know the gpw you get off the 630 in the tent...

In a 4x4 I don't think you'd see any gain from 2x 315's. To take full advantage of 2x 315's I'd run 3x6 or 3 x 7' taking advantage of some overlap between the lights. In that case 2x 315's would be beneficial, square/cubic footage-wise in a 3 x 7' you'd produce more than a 4x4 with any single light source. You're talking 21 sq./ft. vs. 16 in that config...

I'll will be posting it, alot of other factors go into finial weight other then light too. Im not a expert grower but have a few under my belt. The 2 scraggly plants my not produce buds like the others. It may sound corny but my goal is to have a healthy garden free from any deficiencies/pest and grow the my best healthy plants. If i do that, i know the weight and quality will be there.

You did real nice on your run btw!:weed:

Mid 2nd week of flower. I did some minor trimming to the girls. It was getting so thick i couldnt get in to water them and i wanted to improve air flow to avoid potential bud rot. Took of some small bud sights that weren't ever going to be shit.

Looking great there Puffer, that's going to be a full tent in the next week or two!

Yeah. There getting there! I didnt have anything tied or scroged of course. Now everything is growing straight up for the most part. There are tops higher then i would like, i hope the just fill out to bigger buds. Tent is pretty full now. Once bud starts to pack on i anticipate alot of shit falling over because of all the topping some stems are thin. I'll probably get some yo-yos.
