Ok, i was replying to someone on another thread and I started kinda hijacking the thread, so I respectfully deleted all but what was directed at me and I'm gonna post it all here, in just one big throwup....

Now keep in mind, I'm in the process of answering a question:
Let the throw up begin....

I currently have a grow in an aeroflo and the pH is not fluctuating much, just a point or two occasionally. I do have a small aquarium airstone in the nute reservoir and it doesn't seem to affect pH.Maybe the nutes are keeping the pH steady, I'm using Jungle Juice Micro and Bloom and going with the Lucas Formula for mixing amounts.

They're asking me a question:
I mean how much is much then? Like a point or 2. In how long of a period of time. I have risin .2 in like five days i guess. Seems to have stopped at 6.3. Which i leave it in order to avoid adding ph down. When i get to 6..5 i will drop it a cap at a timo to 6.0 then do again. Maybe my nutrient is to strong, no burning but 1900 seems like a lot.

This is my introduction to you all by the way, I'm Jim....

Another question:
Why are u using lucas formula? Its really not even how the product was designed to be used. Just curious because i used it in the past and i see better looking plants uding all 3. Im not knocking the lucas formula or anything just asking what made u decide to go with it.

and, I'm off........

· I'm simply experimenting with the Lucas, that's really all I've used on each grow. They've really come out nice but on the next one I can go strictly by the formula and see what happens. There's SO much freaking information, I'm just trying to wade through it and pick out what seems to work for others. Opinions in both directions, who do you believe so why not just try it myself, plus, it's pretty freaking cool to be able to experiment!

Probably varies from 5.8 to 6.3, honestly, all i do is pH down or up it. Once it gets down to 6.0, or up to 6.0, it stays pretty steady for 3 or 4 days, then it'll lower a point, or increase a point, or two. It always seems to stay in the sweet spot and the plants have never really shown anything but rapid growth and healthy tones so i figure a small variance in either direction is fine, or at least appears fine. I'm only on my 4th grow, one strain, Bianca for 3 grows and this one is White Widow so I know NAUGHT about growing, I can only impart my limited experience.

Oh, my ppm's right now are 1400 and they came down this week from 1700, during flowering I'll boost em' to 2200 for the 3-4 weeks of flowering. then down to 1500 the last couple weeks. Since I lack knowledge, it's been really haphazard with everything I've learned about growing. But here's the thing, a freaking Aeroflo is SO forgiving, it's been very easy actually but I also put a lot ot time into my little room "say hello to my little room">in bad Pacino accent!
I went by all the current wisdom about ventilation, humidity and temperature and just tried to design the best I could for what I've got (I built a small room in my attic). Then, you have the aeroflo or just lazy stream hydro, and it just freaking seems to kill it at growing! I'm not sure how easy Bianca is to grow, but it just went crazy in the aeroflo. The current widder women are looking great, sometimes almost an inch a day of growth, which seems pretty good, or maybe it's not, I haven't googled that yet......

Oh, after 24 years of abstinance (bad drug addiction and alcoholism in my 20's, got "clean and sober"), at 4:20 today, (totally by accident, I DID NOT plan that time), I decided to imbibe, specifically the second grow of Bianca, which was my best to date, it's about 2 years old and has been sitting in my dresser drawer for the last 2 years, taunting me, so i took 2 hits off a dugout, and my mind has been blown for the last 2 hrs and the high is INCREDIBLE!

Your freaking plants look great dude!

I can only imagine any of you experienced stoners laughing at 2 hits of bianca, but 2 has really gave me ONE hell of a buzz! LOL!

Let me show you what I mean by forgiving (the aeroflo)..

I started some clones in a homemade aeroponic cloner, they barely rooted at 14 days, the were the tiniest, unhealthiest looking little clones, ever. I dropped in the aeroflo when they looked like this,,, IMG_3616.JPG IMG_3619.JPG IMG_3621.JPG

To me, that's amazing, and it's not me, its this aeroflo! My first grow, i popped 20 seeds, I was clueless, the seedlings got streeettttchy big time, I almost threw them out they were so pathetic, heres that resulting grow.. IMG_3558.JPG IMG_3559.JPG

Ok, i'll step off my aeroflo soapbox, starting to get a tad unstoned, but still feel really good, and apparently, very talkitive.....

Why are you running your ppm so high? Shouldn't be a reason in aero to be running that high.

Buddy, I'm clueless, I've been trying to explain that, but the results, damn. Of course I can probably come down on my nutes....like I said, a bit clueless, just trying to share my experience. Please, do not hesitate to school me..

Also singing the praises of the aeroflo, I hear some folks dont like them. I certainly get that....each to their own....Holy crap, live Alan Parsons sounds so damn good!

the hydro food your using has ph buffers in it

they amend and stabilize your water that would be why it does not go down much, with higher ppm`s you can normally replace upto 50% of the res and not get a huge ph swing as long as the system is balanced and set up correctly

So yeah its that expensive feed your using

if you had a basic powder food and some ph + and ph - you`d probably do a bit more work

Funny, when it came to nutes, I just looked up the best reviews on the web, I know now I might should go organic, but then I hear of the clogging factor. I can't remember how much they were at the time, I guess they are somewhat expensive. I just threw a ton of money into this room and a huge amount of sweat, 199 labor (ha, I document EVERYTHING!) hours by myself to get this room right. Did a ton of research on the net of course but it just came down to doing it. Oh, i do use pH up and down to keep things balanced...
