Sign The Petition To Remove Debbie Wasserman Schultz As DNC Chair Over Marijuana Hypocrisy

by Johnny Green

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Chair of the National Democratic Committee (DNC), is completely opposed to legalizing cannabis, referring to it as a “mind-altering substance” comparable to heroin. Despite this opposition, Schultz receives thousands of dollars in donations from the alcohol industry, including from lobbying groups such as Bacardi USA, the National Beer Wholesalers Association and the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America.

Due to this hypocrisy, we urge you to sign the petition calling for Schultz’s immediate removal as Chair of the DNC, to be replaced by someone more supportive of legalizing cannabis, which is supported by 58% of Americans according to the most recent Gallup poll.

You can find the Change.org petition by clicking here. The petition is directed towards President Obama, who is unlikely to make the change himself, though it will help bring attention to the issue and will hopefully lead members of the Democrat National Committee to vote for her removal once she’s up for reelection.

Remove Debbie Wasserman-Schulz as DNC Chair Over Cannabis Hypocrisy

Cannabis is an entirely nonlethal substance that a majority of Americans believe should be legal. Despite this, the Chair of the Democratic National Committee, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, has continually opposed to legalization of cannabis, while accepting thousands of dollars in donations from the alcohol industry.

"I just don’t think we should legalize more mind-altering substances if we want to make it less likely that people travel down the path toward using drugs," Schultz told the New York Times. "We have had a resurgence of drug use instead of a decline. There is a huge heroin epidemic."

Despite Schultz's concerns over legalizing another "mind-altering substance" (a substance that has drastically reduced painkiller overdoses in states that have legalized it for medical use), Schultz has no problem with the mind-altering substance that is alcohol, given she received nearly $20,000 in donations this election cycle from alcohol lobby groups such as Bacardi USA, the National Beer Wholesalers Association and the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America. The alcohol industry also donated money to defeat California's Prop 19 in 2010, which would have legalized cannabis throughout the state.

We are calling for the immediate removal of Debbie Wasserman Schultz as the Chair of the Democratic National Committee, to be replaced by someone who supports legalizing cannabis. Given that cannabis would reduce our prison population, increase tax revenue and remove a valuable asset used by criminal syndicates to increase their finances, this is an issue that effects and impacts all Americans, even if they don't consume the substance.

Lol. Real crimes committed by Bush, Clinton and Obama and you want us to prosecute the DNC chair.

Lmao!

Hate to tell you this, but America has signed international treaties to ban the use of marijuana.

It has to be pushed at the state level and then proof of no harm will force the hand of the DEA and Congress to reschedule.

We have violations of the 1st, 2nd, 10th amendment and liars everywhere. There are much more immediate dangers to deal with. Cannabis will be a slow and steady race. Meanwhile corruption needs to be voted out by informing people on their constitutional violations and violations of the law.

You can take one look at the bitch's crazy eyes and peg her for a democrat female. It's a trait you can see in almost every vapid dem female...wide-eyed lunacy. The fucking mop on her head is the cherry on the batshit crazy sundae.

do you purposely do mildly retarded things like that, in order so that people are not overwhelmed by your other, vastly more retarded features?

you are clearly a republican too.

Yes, it's an election year, so there will be some new members that are here solely to spout campaign rhetoric for their candidate, or whichever candidate is paying them to post.

The good news is that they will log off in November.

Holy shit, you can't possibly think that anyone is paying individuals to go on a pot site to swing opinions. The Republicans wouldn't believe (quite correctly) there is anything to be gained among the members of this kind of site and the Democrats wouldn't waste the money as they have to believe (quite correctly) they have a large majority of RIU's members locked up.

Oh, we already realize that the concept would be difficult for you to understand.

Or you have delusions of grandeur believing anyone in either party gives a squirt of piss about this site, or its members. I know that lib organizations pay trolls, but I doubt they're targeting their home turf.
