Nug Machine final MODS ?

I pinched another nug outta the drying box and... holy shit... DAMN good and not EVEN close to properly cured.
BUT... I got seeds.
I must have had a hermaphrodite in the fridge.
So I will save the seeds and research how to feminize them ???

I neatened wires and plugged most everything in and put some nice fluffy stuff under the air pumps, they were making a lot of noise sitting the way they are.
Also, notice the adjustment nuts on the tub hangers.
I filled the tub then adjusted it to almost 1/8" above the surround tub, after adding the net pots and lid and such, it should be perfect.

Oh, and when I was figuring the plumbing to feed the soup up to the top, I found this real handy 12" flex tube, (blue).
That one saved a bunch of time/pieces.

I fired up the light yesterday.
Holy Mother of GOD !
The INTENSE concentration of light cannot be appreciated with the camera shots.
WoW does this focus the light !
I did try raising and lowering the lamp.
The only noticeable difference was that with the door open, I could see the footprint of the light (out on the floor) get bigger as I lowered the lamp.
Don't need it that big, so I raised it all the way up and locked down the bolts.

I had a couple small leak issues with the new system, but got them all fixed yesterday, and fired up the recirculating pump and left it run all night.
Everything is performing optimally this morning as I went out to retrieve my NUGS from the drying box.

I still have to finish some A/C duct work, reinstall the light trap, thermostat, and temperature sensors.
I still need to scrub the net pots and get them ready to fill.

I NEED to get the little girls out of the house today and transplanted.
It is time for their res change anyhow.

Wow awsome work my how your fridge has changed bro, honestly I cant wait to see when you one day go to a tent.from what ive read and experienced with seed breeding if you get a seed from a fem seed/mother that pollinated it self it has high potential 50/50 to re-hermie again but if it doesn't and as ive had quite sum luck you can get and mindy language could get a mean mother fucker of a plant sum of my best local strains lemon kush have come from breading hermies, correct me if im wrong but im 90% sure when they make feminised seeds they can use etha a hormone or a fake pollin of sorts to induce seeding, afew of my mates had quite sum problems with sum newer fem strains they imported hermaphroditing due to there breeding had not been stabolized over a long enough period of time

Nah... no tent for me.
I am gonna get this thing to produce a gram per watt !
I really think I will eventually pass this machine on to my boy one day.
Not for a while tho, it should serve my needs for a few years.

Yea, it seems like I will be seeing a seed or two in just about every nug?
I will kinda keep a count on that, but I want to learn more about feminizing them...???

I had to duct the upper A/C vent down into the surround tub to force the cool air around the root tub and the res, then on to the grow area.
It is easily removable if needed to access the root tub.

I went out to see how the girls first night was and when I walked in, I saw a lot of light... thought I left the door open.
No, just coming out the top, the last thing to do on the transformation.
I taped it up except the wire hole.
Well, almost, I have to cut those bolts shorter so I can put the shelf up there again and get the shed back to normal.
It's a holy freakin mess when I am working on this thing.
And you can see my filter is not on yet, till I refresh the carbon

Everything running just perfect down below.
We are 84 outside and I turned the thermostat UP to 80 (grow room) and still maintain a res temp of 66.
The shallower res and the forced cold air is allowing the soup to be cooled more efficiently.
Just gotta get some ORCA tape to seal up the bottom area .20151223_135322_resized.jpg

Ive never seen a tub configuration like this.

Can you explain a bit about the tub in the middle, what its for?

1. Flood table
2. Is this the root tub?
3. Reservoir
It is basically RDWC.
The root tub (the one with the square across it) is inside, and sticks down thru the surround tub just so I can force the cold air around and under it and the res.
Look to the left on the surround tub, the cold air exits thru that hole into the freezer area.
Then the cold air enters the grow / lighted space via the light trap (and various other placse as there are acceptable leaks) and maintains a good temp in that area... (80)

3. Reservoir
The reservoir is right below the root tub.
The wide but shallow res soup gets cooled more efficiently.
The pump takes the soup up to the root tub, where it is highly aerated, feeding the plants then down the tall drain and back to the res to continue the cycle.
You can see another A/C duct on the left forcing more cold air in that compartment.
This keeps my soup at 64*F

The seeds you are getting are femanized and doesn't mean they will hermie got about 20 seeds from a plant that hermied from heat and I have ran 6 of them not a singe one threw nanners or seeds.

So the surround tub is strictly a conduit for cold air? No water goes into it?

That is correct !
It was my original root tub when I first built the fridge.
Since I chopped a hole that size in the middle shelf, I wanted to keep it neat and incorporate it somehow, then the A/C conduit came to mind.
