Hey, I'm in search of a new light for my closet tent. I'm a beginner hoping to spend a maximum of about $100 on a light and I have no idea what to get. Thanks

At a $100 budget you're probably gonna get cfls or floros unless you check Craigslist and get a deal on a mh/hps setup. Good luck.

A google search will show you a bunch. The cheapest i see without digging is zenhydro for $56, amazon is 100.

If you can keep it cool a 400 watt hid can be had with a separate ballast that will let you switch between mh and hps for veg and flower as well, not to mention when uou decide your gonna go to a bigger room (everyone does) 400 is about the smallest your gonna want amd itll prob be for veg

I was very worried about temperature at time of purchase, as i only have one small fan in my tent. I will probably get some ducting soon too
As long as you monitor it and take steps needed if it does get warm (co2 saturation, 1200-1500ppm in the air, during lights on will let you run a higher temp in your grow area) take measures to controll it, you will be fine and enjoy the extra yield! :bigjoint:

Good shit, that's a sweet deal, like I said I paid the same for my 250w. After running my 250w I know I wouldn't be able to handle a 400w because I cannot duct. Have fun man that's going to be an awesome upgrade!

I have a 600 in my closet. 6in inline fan and my temps are great. 3'x3' is the footprint of my closet.

Keep the temps in check and you will be golden.

Hello guys after 1 cycle I have found the 400w HPS to be too loud and too hot, so it's going to be sent back to the factory. So now I'm going to buy anew LED panel, what wattage should I go for and what are some reputable manufacturers? Thanks

There are a few out there! I use the Black Dog line but its kinda pricey. However Ive had great results. I have seen great results with Mars Hydro. I had the money at the time and BD has the best warranty. Like I said it was very pricey but I wont have to buy another light unless they go out of business or I upgrade to a bigger space. They have excellent customer service! Just take your time and do your research. Im sure you will be happy with the new Mars lights. They are a lot cheaper and they do great job!
