Old guy does first grow.

I didn't smoke pot for about thirty years as I used to get drug tested at work. No longer ! I've retired !

I put together a grow box and bought a variety of seeds from a well-known seed guy. I sprouted most of the seeds in paper towels and a couple in potting soil. Eight seeds "planted." Eight seeds sprouted.

The three lights lights are 60w CFL (equal to a total of 900w incandescent.) I've a fan in the grow box.

No fertilizing yet but plan on Fox Farm products. Your comments are sought.
Thank you

I hate those peat pots. Next time get some normal ones. Things look good so far. Personally i would have those three lights on their side and then have them over the plants. Thatll make the top two more usefull and youll be getting more even light dispersment onto the plants.
Nice to see an old feller growing. Old guys know everything about everything. When im at the bar i love to engauge the old guys in conversation. They have the best stories. good luck to ya.

I certainly will. I'll likely need some help.

Yeah, the peat pots are going soon. They've done their jobs. I'm going to look at rotating the bulbs as you suggested.

Thanks

- Indeed, get yourself a good Lamp. A 250- watter seems like way to go. Calculate your square-footage and use this info for your benefit, :weed: .

You're going to hear contradictory advice here...and nearly all of it acceptable. Lots of folk can grow, and over time you'll find what's right for you. I'm a LED man because it costs little to operate and works pretty good. As for expensive organics, I eat only organic meats and eggs. But plants uptake chemicals, they don't digest food. Though not organic, Dynagrow and other quality commercial products provide an uncluttered cocktail of essential nutrients at great value. And guess what? Plants don't care. Ammonium nitrate is the same by any source, be it decomposing fish, rotting kelp, or urine. You are what you eat. But you're not what your plants eat. In the cigar forums they say, "Long ashes" to greet someone. I don't believe we have a similar greeting on cannabis forums. How about, "Cloudy trichomes"? Welcome, friend.

Are you guys saying that my lighting is insufficient ? As stated earlier, I'm doing an 18/6 cycle with three 60 cfl lamps.

Thanks Father.

Thanks
Those little CFL's will be okay for a while, but the plant really needs more light (especially in flower). Do yourself and them a flava' and get a HID-Lamp suitable for your growing space.

Damn ! It's always something !

Thank you.
Haha, Welcome bro. You should get a book on growing. We will also help you along your journey. Indoors, rule number one = adequate lighting. HID Lamps are the best (imo) from start to finish. Get, say a 250w HPS Lamp on amazon for like 120$. The 1-st harvest and the lamp has more than payed for itself. Psst... Free Herb :p!!! That is my advice, happy growing :joint:
