Could have swore he said xbd specifically in the deleted thread. I don't believe the numbers posted for a second but I'm kinda worn on light debates..

I don't believe that those 1.8gpw numbers are genuine/accurate (or maybe Im just jealous ;). Outrageous claims require outrageous proof. They measure PAR directly in the center of the 90 degree reflector and it reads ~550 from 24". Half the light from the DE Gavita is on the wall, 5 feet above the plant.

I would be willing to examine the lamp though, check actual power draw, emitter quality, temp droop etc. Maybe I should contact them and see if they will submit a sample. Have you checked out their lamps in any detail GG?


Here is a screenshot of their spectrum, looks like a neutral white, nothing wrong with that but intensity and spread is what I am curious about.

Can anyone help me find these T5 bulbs, I'm having a hard time just Googling around.

I'm looking for 2ft LED T5 bulbs for my 48" by 16" and 36" in height space. I can fit eight 2ft bulbs.

Or point me in the right direction on how I should go about covering this. Links to suggested panels or bulbs, any ideas really.

I thought about doing Cree bulbs but need the low-profile panels or florescent tubing has.

I think they only make 4' replacements.

http://www.cree.com/Lighting/Products/Indoor/Lamps/T8-Series You can always buy the tube ends and build your fixture DIY. if no buy a 4' t-8 fixture also.

You dont need the ballast for these cheapies, just hot and neutral to one side of the lamp. Im using cheapies for veg and they work fine. Not sure on flower. If I was building for a small space I would use vero -10 for a long flat scrog.

I have a separate area for flower, but the flower area is also long and skinny, but has plenty of height unlike the veg cab.

Well it's not first nature to me but I'm a natural DIY type of guy. I've done some wiring stuff before. Are you talking about the Vero 10 COB?

Not in Cali unfortunately. Stuck in the Midwest haha.

Yes. Vero 10 cob. Seems like the best choice in a short space for veg. @SupraSPL could say better but I think in veg a v10 at 300ma would veg almost a 2x2 space.

Well... I can get my vero 18 at 1.4amp about 8-10" away in full flower. The smaller cob softly driven will have less intensity over all and you should be able to get closer. Build a low profile fixture and your set. IMO. flower the needs for light intensity is much greater. Keeping in the far blue whites will keep nodes stacked closer and stretch the plants out less helping your issues with height.

I have a veg tent split in two. @jigfresh has two of my lights that are cob based that will go in the lower area. Im using 60w of led tube in the upper area.


Its hard to see the lower area because of no light. its a 2x4x5 tent cut in two levels.

Alright, well awesome. Getting me in the right direction thanks. Now I have to figure out how I'm going to build this thing Lol.
