Mr I Can Do That For Half
I dont think averagejoe read the posts.. He will veg but he is running a 12/12 cycle from the get go to show sex then he goes back to a veg cycle and eventually to flower. No one said anything about no vegging time lol. Im a 24 hours on guy and prefer to just take a clone as soon as I can and root it and sex it the my plants never get interrupted and if a male clone shows then off with his father..unless I need pollen.

Wow.....it's getting to the point where one can't read a thread without all the name-calling. Doesn't anyone have class anymore?

I ran a few plants straight to 12/12 and while I didn't reveg them, they were not worth the time to flower them out. My only concern with doing it the way the OP described is root development as the plant really has no chance of growing a decent root growth being tossed into 12/12 from the beginning. I suspect it may hinder a plant later down the line.

So I have a Hindu Kush female which was started on 12/12 from seed. Soon as she showed pistils, I transplanted and moved her into my vegging box. The light is on continuously, and I noticed she is throwing pistils >:( I want to veg her a lot longer before I go 12/12. I don't know how else to get her to revert back to veg. Anyone>>?
Just a question, how long do they take to show sex under 12/12? Just asking because all my plants showed sex via preflowers in veg under 18/6 as soon as they hit 5th node, and I was under the impression that this was pretty standard. I also was under the impression that under 12/12 the plants will still go through a small veg cycle, and my question is that if they are undergoing a veg cycle and resisting bloom til they are big enough, wouldn't running them under 12/12 actually lengthen the amount of time until they show sex since they have less hours of light to turn into growth? I know some people (@az2000 mentioned it I believe) have talked about doing a period of 20/4 lighting for a couple weeks even while growing 12/12 "from seed" specifically because of this. Just thinking that if pre-sexing is all you're worried about and still plan to veg, you could probably get the same results without having to run 12/12 and risk having what happened to you this time happen again.

EDIT: I just saw you already said it takes about 3-4 weeks, which seems to put them at about the same time frame for my pre-sexing 18/6 plants

Ace, mine usually show around the 4th node, so not much difference from your regiment. I will try 18/6 next time and compare. The 12/12 plants indeed DO go through a short veg cycle, and Sativas will still grow rather stately. Generally, I do not do this with indicas, as the yield would probably be diminished greatly. The Hindu Kush female (OP) has been on 24/0 for a while now, and is doing well, meaning she is once again vegging. I'm still waiting on 3 plants to mature in the flowering chamber, before I throw her under the Halide. I'm starting a Delicious Seeds' - Critical Super Silver Haze in my veg room also.

We all need more space, the clone cuts would help tremendously...
Delicious is a good company, you'll like their gear ,just a word of encouragement if you haven't run their stuff before...

Your a fucking quack. A 12 12 cycle buds the plants , no one does this.
Doing this to a seedling, its never getting a chance to veg.
Wow man pretty harsh response .

Sexing a plant from seed isnt gonna hurt anything & is no different than sexing a plant early using 12/12 vs waiting .

With early sexing you can expect to see some very strange growth while the plant is reverting to veg , leaf clusters look like oak leaves & gnarled up nodes , it'll take a few weeks after the strange growth but the plant will get back on track .

Its no different than revegging a plant thats grown to harvest then revegged after harvest , if the strain was stable to begin with then you have zero risk of the plant going hermie .
