I'm new and looking for advise.

put them pots in totes to catch water then pump it out. Keep a DETAILED journal. Things will go wrong on your first grow, it happens to EVERYONE. When you repot get some FFOF. It just plain makes your grow easyer, not sure why some people are against making things simple. Remember you are in control of your grow, you will find things that dont or do work and change them.

Ok, so I made some adjustments.
Exhaust is now above the light, I lined my walls with panda film.
And finished my room.

When I talked to the guy at the store he said FFOF is really good, but it's a bit hot. He suggested happy frog. He said it's a bit more forgiving for a first timer. So I got that.
Repotted my plants. I filled to the top as suggested. I'm a little worried bc I didn't get all of the old dirt of the roots,i didn't want to hurt the roots system. But got as much as I could of the roots.

I got a ph tester, got water checked it, it was at 8. Added some lemon juice and got it down to 5.0
I think I'm going to let it sit for an hour, re-check the ph then water them.

What do you think?

When watering I want a 10% run off correct? Then wait until its the soil is dry about 2" down from top?
Best way to know when to water is the lift test feel the weight of your pot when dry water them then lift when wet. You do it enough and you will get familier with the weight. And all you will ever have to do give it a slight lift and it will become second nature to you to know when there ready.

I agree with want2learn, it's a great way to go IMO. Remember you don't wanna upset the root system though. So be careful ya know don't lift it and then let it drop stuff like that. Poking your finger down varys cause pots dry out faster on the outside then the middle so it all depends on where you poke down to see plus you could be hitting a good clump of roots every time an end up pissing her off.

Hello. Hope you are all well.
I have 3 starts that I inherited from a friend. I am hoping to pick some brains and gain some knowledge.
Here's what I am working with at the moment:

Light: MH 250w
Plants: 3 (currently in veg. mode)
Medium: 80% MG and 20% soil from my garden
Room: 4x3x3
Air: Large fan and exhaust

I have been:
watering when soil is dry about 1.5-2" down, watering with about 10% runoff.
Pinching the stalks and leaves.

I have been looking for litmus paper to test ph but can not find locally yet.
I have not bought any nutes or food yet.
I started all of this about a week ago.

Based on the info given above and the picture below, what am i doing right or wrong.

Any feedback or suggestions would be great.

I see your exhaust fan on the floor. You should move it as high as you can get it. Warm air rises and cool air falls. As it is, you're exhausting the coolest air. You want it near the ceiling so you're exhausting the warmest air. The MG soil is already fertilized. You won't need any for a couple of months. Good luck!

way i look at it is if u need soil that has everthing in it for u well u cant grow for shit ;)
If the you get the plant all the way to harvest you can grow. The fact that you think a rippin soil is for sissys who don't know what their doin tells me your not very intune on what to do other then follow a feeding schedual. Some of the best stuff you can smoke grows in supersoil, why would you want to over complicate the growing process any ways for hardly noticeable results.

Getting the last little bit of old soil out isn't worth damaging the roots. You're fine.
