FIM & Topping

I would like to start by saying im not a expert in farming or growing, so it will be great if people with more experience may want to guide me and give our fellow growers some insights to these training methods.

FIMMING & Topping is almost the same thing, we are still training our plants. So what is the major difference from 1 and the other?

A few reasons Why plant training is advised is to increase yield and the quality of yield. By letting more light through/ So there's better air flow/ controlling the way your plant grows for stealth grower who want their plants short or any other reasons.

Things I have noticed for FIM: you can only do them for the top or very new leaves.

Things I've noticed for Topping: it can be done at almost every stage of the plant. Topping can be use for clones as well.

To some who do Not know what's what see image for a clearer understanding.

Happy smoking.
As always peace

FIM and topping are the same thing... FIM stands for " Fuck I missed". What that mean is when you top your plant, you will get 2 new shoots. When you FIM or try to, you might get 3 or 4. FIM was from a bad topping FUCK I MISSED that gave 4 shoot instead of 2. When you try to FIM, you don't top so low, you top more into the new growth "Hoping" you get 4 new tops instead of 2. But both are just toping.

I don't know anyone who can FIM and get 4 new shoots every time, its a try and hope it works,, either way 2 or 4 you plant is still topped.

I was asking if i would severely stress my plants at this stage of early growth. I just don't want the plant to grow so tall especially that there is still around 3 months of veg period for this plant outdoors. I will top and not Fim hopefully.

It's a yes and no question.
Yes you can start FIM/Top her. But sometime if she's too young she will just continue her growth up and not split up into 2 or more branches. Another thing about training too early is that the branch Where the split happen cannot bear the weight when it is in flowering.

So in my position I will let her be about 5 nodes in then I start to train her.

Hope it helps

Peace.

Can you please tell me if this is ready to be topped?

This is my first grow. I really notice my lack of experience in this field but i'm learning. I'm thankful to all advisors on riu.

Ah and is it possible that those little white dots be naughty mites? I sprayed them very lightly yesterday and sprayed the whole area around very well just in case.

well where they usually start maturing around 9th node should I just not worry about it this year. I heard/read it was good idea for bigger yield but where im a new grower and don't wanna fuck up or stunt them. I am hesitant :s
Im confused on the timing between veg/flowering and budding where I read around 9th node they start maturing turning into male/female and produce bud but I also read you can prolong your veg stage to make them bigger and stronger but no sure how long you can exactly do that either. knowing this would benefit me alot where im growing inside for a month or so then transplant outside. They are on there 6th nodes and roughly 3 weeks old now
