First time growing need help with light situation.

This is my first grow and I made my own stealth box. Currently I am using two cfl's for my girl scout cookies veg state . I was interested in getting some leds for my plant when I start flowering because I heard from another grower that using only cfls will make your buds turn out loose and not dense. I did some research and want to buy this light http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-LED-Spotlight-Bulb-TriBand-Spectrum---ONE#. It only cost $30 and I figured since i'm only growing one plant It would be fine. If not I was planing on making my own. any suggestions please. Thanks!

Hi mate, nah you will be wasting your money on that LED dude, worth a try tho I guess. by the size of your cab I can see that your not really bothered about high yield so it might be worth a go, CFLs are better then that LED tho mate. Even the lower priced UFO units are better. Get a bigger area dude and invest in a decent LED, you wont go wrong nor look back. Check out my homepage for more info.

Your plant looks small enough that the CFL's will do you just fine. Your goal is to get some quality smoke not yield right? If so, it doesn't matter about how dense it is, as long as its covered in THC and done right. You need to make sure heat isn't a issue when growing in small areas. Heat above 85F slows and can stop bud growth!!! IMO, you should make sure you have the right light spectrum for flowering.... around 3000k or the orange bulbs. The blue (daylight) bulbs are around 7000k and are perfect for veg.

Nothing against LED growing, but why spend more money if you don't need it?

Later on if you have some cash buy a small 150w or 250w hps set up from online. You'll get dense buds, better yield, faster flower time and the cost is well worth it.
