Vortex (A little disappointed)

I'm not bashing TGA but this strain had me so hyped up. Grew out 4 females 1 was a runt with rounded indica like buds. Needed some smoke so took her at almost 8 wks. She was the best smelling tasting of the bunch. The other 3 grew great sized buds covered in crystals and one turned purple. Density was bout 7/8 out of 10. Smell was 6 of 10. High 7 of 10. Taste 6/7 of 10. That was for the 3 bigger girls. The runt: density 7/8 of 10, high 8 of 10, smell 8 of 10, taste 8 of 10. So overall the bigger girls get 7 out of 10 and the runt pheno gets an 8 of 10. Guess I just pumped myself up too much. I was expecting at least a 9-9.5 out of 10. I also thought the taste would be a 9 or 10 guess not. I still have 3 more girls in flower now 1.5 weeks in. Sorry just not that pumped. Should I clone them in case I get a freak pheno. Yes I did clone runt girl. Maybe I been smoking too much Tahoe og. This shit is AMAZING. Finished a week after vortex. Maybe thats why vortex isn't doing that much for me. The ole lady claimed Tahoe as hers. Gotta ask just to get a bud out the jar. Lol. Tahoe is the shit.

I grew Vortex and honestly, i didnt care for it either. It wasn't a BAD strain, I guess i just didnt get the right pheno that everyone loves...

Reclaim the Tahoe and give her some of the Vortex instead.

I smoke as much Tahoe as I want lol, I'm just trying to slow her ass down. The wifey is a king chiefer of the reefer. She smokes me to sleep a lot. I usually wake up the next morning and ask what time I fell asleep.

hey vonkins i know youve been kikin around here for awhile now & ive got a question ... im looking for an og to grow ive been looking at rare dankness war da reekn & gagegreen daybreaker but youre the second person i consider creditable to say good things about the tahoe it sounds like what im looking for would you recomend it ???

I read the above quote on a Sugar Punch thread and thought it was rather presumptuous of you to say Vortex was going to put Sugar Punch to shame and there would be no comparison. This was comparing a strain you'd liked for two years (sugar punch), to an unknown (vortex) that you were strangely sure would be far better. My curiosity to see how this turned out for you led me here.

Sorry the Vortex didn't live up to your expectations, like you, I was very intrigued by the breeders description of Vortex, but don't all breeders descriptions sound awesome? Unfortunately, they don't always live up to those glowing descriptions, but those descriptions do sell a lot of beans. I prefer to ignore the glowing seller descriptions and put a lot more weight on the fact that you thought enough of Sugar Punch to grow it for two years. That sounds more like an endorsement that I can believe in.

You can always trust what a grower keeps in his garden and grows multiple times, but those glowing descriptions by the breeders are just to sell seeds and may be extremely exaggerated. I've always thought "sales" was a very deceptive profession.

And no, you weren't bashing TGA, you were just giving an honest report. And I appreciate that.
