Hello rollitup forum!
This is in fact my first real (closet) grow, as a kid I would grow some seeds in some soil not knowing anything about light n nutes n all that good stuff...
Anyways, I started this plant in some soil from seed around late August 2012. I never really let it vegetate maybe 1/2 a month, still not knowing enough to grow marijuana.
Thanks to these forums, and others I have learned so much about growing marijuana and corrected my ways a month into growing this plant (fully understanding).
It has been flowering for a long time, about 3-4 months and I'm thinking this plant has to be ready or near ready.
Day before yesterday I chopped off a bud and quick dried it in the oven on lowest setting (warm) for about 10 minutes, but got busy and left it in oven on off for the rest of the day, about 10 hours.
When I was finally ready to smoke the bud was nice and dry. While smoking I decided to inspect a bud (the calyxes) with my 60-100x maginification scope and seen alot of amber trichomes, around 1 - 2 for every 10 trichomes. I felt the plant was ready for harvest so began flushing just yesterday.
After smokin up the bud i chopped off of it 2 days ago, I wanted to make sure it was time for harvest so I took 3 leaves from 3 different buds around the plant and inspected the trichomes (pictures above).
As far as I can see there are NO amber anywhere on these leaves and all look clear/cloudy so now im really confused.
Could putting the bud in the oven matured some of the trichomes or turned them amber in any way?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Its good to harvest. The trichomes will continue to change until completely dry, the stems will snap lick a dry twig. Get lots of air in the room with her and keep it dark. Congrats:clap:

Ok thanks for the reply but I'm still not sure if I should stop the nutes and let it go for like another month. I am going to post pictures of the plant as soon as my camera batteries charge up.
This plant (from what Ive read) is a dwarf, or could just look like that because I did not let it veg for too long if at all. Could also be mutated since I only see 1 leafed and 3 leafed fan leaves.
The majority of the plants pistils are orange, but still alot of white, I dont really think that is an indication of harvest time.
The last week it has been forming 'nanners', which I have been pulling off with sterilized tweezers, some forming pollen as I seen while pulling them off, only 1 or 2 nanners here n there.
Basically the plant looks like one big cola.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa, hang on a sec you have been flowering for 3 or 4 months? Flowering generally last 7 up to 10 weeks so if you've been flowering that long it's trash by now. You want to veg for 2 months then flower for usually 8 weeks, the last 2 weeks of flowering is when you want to flush the plant by giving her fresh water with no nutrients. If you have "nanners" than you have a hermaphrodite (girl/boy) doesn't matter but you'll have seeds. Umm... what kind of light do you have? Hid, cfl, flouro? it would help if you had pics of the entire thing meaning your set-up with the plant in it and then some pics of the plant close-ups too. If you've really been flowering that long it's definitely time to harvest so flush it for a week or two then cut the stalk and hang it upside down for a week than cure the buds in a glass jar you can find info on most of this stuff. Good luck and try to post some more pics.

Here are some pics:

The lights I'm using are 300w CFL's (along with sunlight from 'lights on' at 9am, to about sundown which is like 5pmish) on a 12/12 for pretty much its entire life except the first 1/2 month which I just let the sunlight take care of it.
I'm very familiar with the drying and curing process so atleast I can get that right.

Im not completely sure how long its been in flower, but the first sign I seen pistils, which was about a month into growing, I put it on a 12/12 cycle.
The reason the bottom nodes are chopped off is I gave it a misting of water a over a month ago and did not have a fan on it, and upon investigating the plant some days after I seen white fuzzy mold growth on the bottom portion buds. I figured the plant was doomed so I chopped off all the bud with mold, and a couple nodes above it, and let the top portion go with good ventilation, and very tedious cleaning with bleach products and all the mold resided.
The thicker bud growth came on the scene around a month ago.
Thanks for replies.

After a few more days flush its coming down. Have some other seeds on the way from attitude so I can focus on that.
Do I need to earn some rep or posts before I start a grow journal, or can anyone do it?
Thanks
