Leaf Clone... attempt 2.

Okay, the last one failed. It had plenty of root but couldn't do much else. Even if it does work, the time it takes to begin growing is way too long.

This one is a little different. It has a stem with a leaf hanging from it. In between leaf and stem is a tiny female pre-flower. That's it, no other growth whatsoever. Here's some pic's.

The middle pic' is a bit blurry, but you can just make out the female pre-flower. I'm open to suggestions, as I'm of half a mind to put it straight into flower.

If it's just the leaf, no part of a shoot, it will grow fine....roots, but not a top. The leaf will be fed by the roots, but that's about it.

You need a shoot tip, or meristem(?) tissue to get it to actually "grow".

You can do this with a celery stalk too. It'll grow roots, and stay alive, but it ain't gonna grow more celery.

Same thing's happened with this one. Plenty of root, just no upward growth. I may as well leave it, it's not like it's taking up much room... something might happen one day.

Yes, something will. The leaf will eventually get old and die.

You could "clone" from a leaf through cell culture, but not by rooting a petiole or leaf stem.

But it looks like you have a good rooting regimen down, anyways.
