My last cycle I wanted to run an experiment. I knew no matter what if I told anyone that I hadn't flushed they would all judge my buds with discrimination. So I didn't tell anyone. not a single person had anything bad to say. everyone loved what I grew. So now I'm faced with a decision, do still need to flush? It didn't seem to make a difference. so whats the point? there doesn't seem like any. the plant kinda starts to ripen when its done anyways. I don't think there is exactly a "need" to force it into its ripening phase.

I got some info from an other board that I should use this stuff called budswel. He said even when ya flush so I did and the buds smelled just like the budswel bad. I am not using it any more an I'm not going to flush. I have about 2 weeks left and I will just add water to res when I need to but no flushing. MB

true, but you can put to much nutes in and the buds will have that nasty bite
since when did plants start storing nutes in the buds?? that last time i checked nutrients are stored in the roots of a plant.. :D

flushing does nada, what is all built up in buds that people are trying to magically flush out of with water is well beyond me.. shit don't work like that.. that's almost like saying that using cool aid will flavor bud.. pure water will take flavors away, yah, that's it, that's the ticket.. :D

I have never flushed before harvest. When I take samples to the resource center the 'connoisseurs' always remark about how well I flushed my plants. If you only give the plants what they need there is no reason to flush.

I know? but, all I can say is I still have that bag of weed:-(

I know though, that you don't need to flush, but if you fucked them buds in the last stages, you better start just using water them last weeks.

first of all when a plant takes the nutrients you give it it changes them into food which eventually ends up being plant matter, the idea of having chemicals in your buds because you didnt flush was obviously though up by some dim witt that has no idea how plant biology works.

flushing your soil only wastes you money, why put it in if your going to just flush it all out?

....and by flushing I mean flush the medium for excess nutes then cutting the regiment to half or less to force a ripening phase. sorry if I was unclear. I've pretty much always used hydroton so "flushing" is a quick quick process....pretty much. I don't know why people will running flushing agent with just plain water for two weeks, in hydroton at least, cause you're not "pulling" nutes out of the plant. once they're in there that's it! So if you feed the plant to the point where it doesn't have burn, let it ripen and pull its own nutes out naturally and then cut it when its ripe there shouldn't be any problems. if you push the poor thing to its limits its still going to have a full belly when you chop it down. and the nutes are store in the leaves and roots right? well who chops off 100% of the sugar leaves? they don't all come off so I could theoretically see how you could have "nutes taste" in your buds. blah blah blah i'm high.....:bigjoint:

Its gonna be my first harvest next week and ive flushed the plants with phd water twice in coco, thats it for me! Fucking pointless really i suppose but hey you live and you learn! From what ive read on various forums and info its got to be all bullshit as you say the nutes are stored in the leaves anyway so flushing should just make the buds less potent if anything? Anyway this is her, G13 Haze, smells amazing and i cant wait to get my smoke on!
