ive grown before but never with such shit equipment before lol so far my plant cost me $0 but its time she gets pampered lol im pretty sure she is stivia on account of her being so lengthy with little bushyness but ive noticed that her lower leaves have been wilting and falling ive already lost my firts singular leafs and the second set of 3 leafs...i figure its just my shit light not reaching to them so i added another light to help the lower leafs...anyway its the 5th day of 12/12 and im wondering what would be a good fertilizer or miricale grow to give her so i can get some nice buds also maybe some feed back on my dying lower leaf problem DSCF0522.jpgDSCF0518.jpgDSCF0524.jpgDSCF0525.jpgDSCF0521.jpgDSCF0519.jpgDSCF0520.jpgDSCF0523.jpg

get a bigger light you will never grow anything worth smoking with that setup. your plant is so lanky because it does not have enough light. it is not going to produce anything.you are just wasting your time and setting yourself up for a disappointment. get a small 150w hps online you can find them for under $100.

I can't really see on my computer but are those cfls? If not i would go ahead and buy the biggest you can for the money you have, at least 2-42 watts 6000k...maybe like $20.I think it could be a sativa but the excessive stretch is probably due to the light IMO. How old is she? Maybe you can think about doing a little LST on it, might could benefit a good bit. And feed is fertilizer, nutrients, nutes...and miracle grow is supposed to be really bad, but if you do use it work up to your maximum amount (I wouldn't go over 1/4 of what the label says) and do a flush before harvest. Hope this helps...deuces

Yea would definitely go for an hps if you can, I wasn't sure what kind of budget you had. You can use cfls for suplemntal lighting on the sides if you want to, and the hps has been known to cause a little stretch if used all the way through but the way your plant iis now I dont think it will really make a difference.

yes a hps will help now. yes you can veg with an hps, i do and i my internodal growth is very tight. an hps is good for both veg and flower they are more efficient and have much better light penetration than cfls. imo cfls are only good for seedlings and clones.

Although it is generally agreed that HPS lights produce higher-quality denser buds, many people have done successful small scale cfl grows. The trick is that CFL's need to be placed all around the plant due to their lack of penetration where as with an HPS bulb you can get away with just hanging one at the top. Here's the link to the CFL forum if you decide to stick with them for now. https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/ Either way you choose to get it, it sure looks like that plant needs better light coverage.

And no, I'm not trying to start a CFL v. HPS debate. There is no comparison; HPS are far superior. I'm just saying that for a single plant being grown in a bathroom, under a single CFL... well from what I've seen even $20 worth of Wal-Mart CFL's would improve its situation 110%. And the money he saved buying that HPS could be used towards some nutrients, or a hygrometer, or a ph tester, or... :)

I spent $0 on my entire grow so far, I built the grow tent with things around the house and I wired the lights(2-80watt fluorescent tube fixture) together myself. The setup is pretty straight up and plants are doing really well. But I am ordering a 600 watt hps this week :)

right on...but ive just been told that really i shouldn' buy a hps under 400 that i would be better if i just go big so i don need to upsize at all n even the 600 or 1000w would be even better yet and another thing how the fuck do i get a profile pic uploaded? lol

Were you told that by someone trying to sell you an HPS? From what I've observed a 400w is just fine for a personal grow, but it depends on how many plants you intend on growing and the square footage of your grow area. Are you going to continue growing in your bathroom? The 1000w at htgsupply says it is good for a 10' X 10' space. I imagine if you used one in smaller spaces keeping temps down would be a problem. Then you would need to invest in a cool tube and/or upgraded ventilation. I'm admittedly a n00b, but I've seen some legit 400w HPS grows.

i plan on redoing either my basement or master bedroom up maybe both if i can afford it
Well, if you plan on upgrading your setup soon then I'd go with a proper size for the bigger space. If not, I'd go with a size appropriate for my temporary space and either buy a second one and/or upgraded when I expanded. That's just me though. :)

Whatever you do, try and post some pics of your plant before/after you switch up the lighting on it. I'm curious to see how it responds.
