okay, i bought a 400 watt s51 hps ballast off craigs list for 40 bucks, then got a metal halide 400 watt conversion bulb on ebay, got some headie bagseed and ended up with 4 beautiful girls (hopefully all girls). im a week and 2 days in since they sprouted and there at about there 5th node maybe 4 and 1/2 inches tall. however my temps are steady at about 100*F and i can see some signs of the pH being to low or high. imcompletely broke right now, will be posting pics. any ideas for the temps or to determine whether the pH is too high or low?

ive used no nutes or ferts so far. just potting soil a light, and stupidly, tap water.
also, for some reason, 1 sprouted upside down, (roots came out top of soil) so i dug it out flipped it, and let it go. it is on its 4th node and almost an inch and a half tall. how did that happen? wtf. anyway, reply with questions or suggestions. picswill be up tommorrow.

100 is going to be high enough to stunt growth. Would have more of an effect on flowering though. If you can get distilled or RO/DI water, once you mix it with nutes it'll be around 6.5. The only main concern would be if your soil is changing it dramatically. For that you'd need a tester, but they don't cost a lot, you could get one for around $8.

also i topped the plant on the left in the first picture. seems to be bushing out quite quickly. the tallest one is showing male characteristics, but im not chopping it until i flower and know for sure. the others are short noded and bushy with wide leaves, so they are likely females..
also my house is poorly insulated, so when i flower winter will be here and help keep temps around 70, (i know because of previous expirience)
