hey guys, I was looking around for maybe a tutorial on how to lollipop plants, or maybe an in-depth thread? Can anyone point me in the right direction, or maybe an expert could write one up for us?? I've seen a little bit about the technique and it looks reeeeal interesting.
 
That is what they call lollipopping? Shit my plants look like that in my cabinet but I thought due to lack of light on the lower branches so I stipped them. Does this do anything special for the bud?

I do something similar, top the plant wait for it to recover and then clone using the lower third of the plant, not all at once of course but over a month or so. Not sure if that is lollipopping or not. But topping forces the hormones to move lower in the plant then when you trim the bottom the hormones move up top. It takes a bit more of a veg period but I like it, moves all the bud areas into the canopy.
 
So when do you start to lollipop? How far along into the stage would you clear off the lower 3rd? You do this before flowering? From what I read when you cut anything off the plant it pushes the floral hormones back awhile, any idea how long exactly? Also do you prune off the lower 1/3 all at once? Thanks for any info, very curious on the subject.

I wait about 3 weeks and top. Wait about a week and clone about half of the lower one third wait 2 weeks prune the remaining third wait two weeks or more and then flower. never top or prune during flowering. So most of my plants that get this treatment veg for 2+ months.
 
answer this question for growgirl. im scroggin right now and planning to incorporate some lollipopping in this cause u dont want any growth underneath the screen. anyone when to clip the bottom 3rd?
 
Just my 2 cents growgirl I was watching an episode on youtube of urban grower where remo talks about the lollipop method and says ideally the best time for using this method is during the first to third week.of flowering...when doing so in the first and second week of flowering u strip the plants bottom leaves and all the branches.leaving them naked....allowing for the plant to focus on its tops to increase the size of the colas.....goodluck....
 
I'm 38 days into flowering. Does that mean that I can't take clones from the lower branches now?
