starting seeds different ways

ok ive pretty much germed my seeds the same way since the first time i did it. the only thing i do no from 3 years ago is use an airtight bowl. ive been working with clones for a couple years now havent germed many seed with the exception of my outdoor grow.

so i use the paper towel method. if i do different strains i write what is what on each fold them up and wet them stick them in a airtight bowl and wet a little more. i just did 6 on 11/2 5 had nice big taps on 11/3 execpt the WW witch was the biggest seed of all and i can see it cracking. usualy at this point i would put them in some soil and wait for them to sprout. then start sexing or growing.

well since ive used seeds ive switched to hydroponics D.W.C. AERO FLO 20(with add on sites) and D.I.Y. AERO/D.W.C. hybrids and rockwool cubes seem to work best for me now instead of using the autocloner. with the autocloner i stick a cutting in 5 days later i pull out a rooted clone and plant it in dirt its not that easy using hydroton there not as sturdy or anything so i switched back to cloning with cubes.

so now that i have these cracked seeds with nice pretty taps and i stuck them in rockwool cubes what is the succsess rate doing it this way,and is it the best way? or should i just stick the seed in the cube wet it and sit it in the dark for a day or 2? when i put them in wet towell i put them in top of a dark cabinet till they sprout. so wouldnt it make sense if you did put bean in wet cube to put it in dark for a day or 2 or if did that way should they be put directly under light?

just wondering cause im not to upto date on my rockwool(ITS NOT MY FAVORITE) just wondering if how i done it was fine andif not how should i do it in cubes? heres a few pics and a link to my journal.

im getting ready to add on to room and change some stuff up. i rushed it the first time. im starting some new strains an getting some ready for gureilla grow outdoor this summer. peace and thanks for the help

i keep a 42w 6500k 24/0 on in my germ area but in truth it doesnt really matter if u check a few times everyday. in the dark they would keep stretching upwards trying to find the light(i'd imagine they still think they are underground is the reason)and not develop the leaves as soon so you should get light on em as soon as the break the soil.

there not in soil i dont use soil any more. the pics above are them. and the 3 sys i use

i should have said growth medium instead of soil i suppose. close enough. lol

i've not had good luck with the paper towel method as i forget i started'em.but i did have great success with a biodome from park seed with disstilled water with a heating pad with auto shut off on it. i got 22 sprouts the next day. the biodome uses bio sponges so it's transplant friendly.oh and that was with shit weed bag seed too.

the og kush and big bang are doing awesome. the power kush blue widow and cali hash plant all died a couple days ago they came up were up for maybe a day and died. the white widow has no even really cracked open good yet the big bang and white widow are from green house and there the colored seeds with that shit on them. i think that rooting horomonal shit slows them down and shit the big bang come up 3 days after the og kush. the power kush was the firsst 1 up and looked pretty good and then dead out of no were

and also is a F1 a plant started from seed is that right? or is it a cutting/clone from a plant from seed? thanks guys oh BTW i germed 3 mor strains 4 reg querkle 1 l.a. con and 1 himilayin gold (from GH with that shit on it arrggghhhh)

how come i cant get shit to germ in fucking rockwool danm i hate this shit i would much rather just throw them in soil and watch them come up. wat is the best way to start seeds for hydroponics systems D.W.C. AEROPONICS AND DIY AEROS all hydro ops but how the fuck do i get me seeds going its fucking killing me ive lost 5 strains and aboit 200$ and im fucking sick of it

I don't know what to tell you. I just put them in rockwool cubes. 1x1 cubes and put them in my veg tray. I leave the lights on and sometimes I'll put a dome over them. That's only so I don't forget and let the cubes dry out really though. I take it off as soon as I get sprouts. Sometimes I don't use it at all, but then it's really a lot more about trusting in myself to remember to check on them frequently.

how wet should i keep them at all stages in the cubes from start till i put in system

Practice with some schwag seeds so you're not wasting so much money.

I'm sorry I didn't see your response sooner, must've missed the updated in my control panel. I keep them fairly wet in the early stages, then after they sprout I'll start letting them dry out a bit more. I'll remove the dome and start treating them like little plants. In the beginning I just want to keep things moist all of the time to keep germination going.

ne 1 help please

distilled water seems to take me forever in a cup. i can never succeed at the wet towel method, so i used tap water and within 2-3 days all cracked (all 80)
