taking clones from plants in flowering

Hi all. Just wanted to say a massive thanks i have been reading the forum like a book for the last few months and the second hand advice and information has been invaluble! Anyway to bring you up to speed - in mid flowering of my 1st grow (feminized lemon skunk in coco with canna nuts if your intrested) 1 plant has throughout been absolutly stonking! i was going to clone it back in veging but decided not to as i was going to have a break before next grow however things have changed and im wondering if its to late so clone now (12/12 for about 5 weeks), if you think its still worth it can you point me towards a cloning 101 thread. cheers in advance, i have a million and one questions for maximizing my second grow so im sure you will hear plenty more from me in the coming months. finally as the name surgests im a plumber and have found my job very useful for my new hobby so if i can return the favor and use my knowlage to help anyone please let me know

you can clone at any time from veg or flower. cuting from a plant thats in veg is better they say. i just ut from mine thats was 6 weeks in and had roots in 12 days, just like when i clone frome a plant in veg. :mrgreen:

this is 12 days after cloneing. good luck :blsmoke:

yer its fine,may take a bit longer to root and also to reveg,but they will take off in the right conditions

thanks for that i will give it ago. next question... my second grow is hopefully going to be a sog with 16 plants. so my plan was to take a cutting (or multiple cuttings) from this plant veg and then take cutting from those to produce the 16 plants (probs start 20 and keep best 16). can you see any problems with this? how large should i take the original cuttings and how many? the original plant has 6 large colas on it so im going to leave them well alone and try to take some of the lower branches - good plan? finally how long would i need to veg the cutting / cuttings to produce a plant / plants that could produce 20 clones?

4" to 6" is a good size. to grow a plant to take 20 clones offif thats all she is for would take about a month month 1/2 pending on many things.

Thanks mygirls. I have taken 4 clones roughly 5" used baby bio rooting solution (its all i could get without trekking all the way across town to the hydro shop) and put them in canna coco. i thought about leaving them in my grow room then moving them elsewhere each night but in the end have placed them about 3 ft from an upstairs window that gets good but not intense light and i will turn the normal room light on at night (i know this isnt ideal but i only have the 1 hps light) does this all sound about right? at the end of the day i have nothing to lose if they dont take i just start from seeds. might take some photos and do a grow journal from now till the end of the eventual sog so i can get further imput throughout if anyone is interested? i have read that my main issue with clones is prob going to be too much moisture in the medium how often should i be watering?
