Legalization of our favorite pastime...

I am creating this thread to encourage everyone to be proactive in there states in the medicinal use and legalization of our beloved friend -:leaf:. For those who are wondering what they can do, it's as easy as going onto www.NORML.org and filling in your name and address in a pre-written letter to the politicians that represent you and your state. Below the pre-written text for my state which was on medicinal use, I wrote that I also think that it's a good idea to consider the legalization, regulation, and taxation on cannabis. NORML states that 1 email represents 100 people, 1 letter or 1 phone call represents 500 people, and one personal visit represents 1000 people, so get active people. In the first week of March more than 2500 people sent emails to their state reps which means they represented the public opinion of over 250,000 citizens, and 8500 in February representing 850,000! That's amazing, but everyone needs to do it for it to become an overwhelming knock on the door of the head politicians. Massachusetts just introduced bills to legalize too so....LET'S GO NEW ENGLAND!!! Here is a link the article on NORML about the Mass and the bill ( http://blog.norml.org/2009/03/23/norml-breaking-news-marijuana-legalization-bills-introduced-in-massachusetts/ ), please go on there people and contact your state officials and do something about this. Thanks for your time and feel free to leave your thoughts.

Excellent job pothead. So would I. If people want change then they have to do something about it. Please people, it's your right as a citizen to decide what the laws are...Majority rules in a democracy, take part.

i would just like to give my 2 cents without being hated on. but i know its coming. i am from canada. weed is reasonably cheap.(kinda). its all amazing stuff. it is very very easy to get. it is not as bad as the states but i would not want it 100% decriminalized. the best thing happened in canada recently. weed is illigal here technically. but possesion is a fine of 90 dollars and they never give it. most cops here are cool. wih the change in law prices actually didnt drop. if they were sold like cigarettes i would be out of a living. and they will charge the same price anyways. its not like med patients in cali are getting mad pounds for cheap. like it the way it is. i smoke where i want when i want unless i am at the risk of offending someone. love the way canada is right now. its unspokenly legal. lol. and most police dont care. just my reasons for liking it the way it is. but i hear in areas of the states it hard to get anything. might think diff then. seeya and come to canada and dont be scared to ask the guys who look like they smoke weed if they do. they aint police. lol oh yah and i live on a border city where on the weekends there are 80000 americans coming to drink and get high here. and they allwant 4 or so grams. you can clean up!

I completely understand where you're coming from 1982 but things are different where you live. There are states in the US that have what's called mandatory minimum sentences which means you go to jail no matter what. There are also laws against cultivation where if you grow a certain amount of plants, there's a good chance that you'll go to jail longer than someone who is convicted of child molestation. It's rediculous. There is also another site that everyone can go to called change.org that is asking people to sign a petition to stop marijuana arrests...the link is --> http://www.change.org/drugpolicy/actions/view/stop_marijuana_arrests

Please go there too and take action..

i prob cant sign the form but will try. your laws there are pretty bad. i got into serious trouble at cedar pointe a couple years ago over a roach. its rough. Another crazy ass point is the only way to put it. Is that crack heads and heroin and coke heads seem to get more sympathy. They "have a problem" so lets give them money for clean needles and drugs? I'm sorry but if you get into those drugs and catch something then deal with it. i wouldnt want my tax dollars paying for them. The other strange thing is Canada is more lenient even though there is free healthcare. Even i'll admit i dont think someone else should pay for my lungs but they will. The rich can afford a few extra dollars for me. Call me a communist like every southerner i met on vacation but its better. I think Bill Gates should have to pay extra taxes. 1% of the people in your country own all the money. And the more i see the news the more i realised they didnt earn it. Your country has so many probs with corruption they need pot to change the subject. good luck guys. And feel free to rob some of those ceo's. i would prob be in jail for murder if i lived in the states. Maybe triple. might have to take out a few ceos to feel better.
