*~ Last minute 600w HPS system recommendations wanted! ~*

Go to www.htgsupply.com I looked for quite a while at many sites and I found a Digital 600 watt HPS with an air cooled reflector. Also has glass on the bottom. And at the time when they shipped(1 week ago) they didn't have the bulb I needed so they upgraded to a much better one for free. They ship fast and everything I needed with shipping cost $295.00 This light also has a 2 year warranty on the ballast and reflector and a 1 year warranty on the bulb. I'm not flowering just yet but I have run the light through cycles to see where my temps are at and I love it. Can't go wrong for the price and quality. They also have the batwing reflector if you want to save more money but for $300 total I would def go with the air cooled. Peace
 
DUH, I just noticed in light green that you were looking at HTG. Cant go wrong though, its a beautiful system.
 
i've heard of a few people haveing problems with them, but yeah that's the exact setup i was looking at

i wonder if it would be cheaper to get everything separate, found a magnetic ballast w/5yr warrenty for like 140 shipped, a reflector shipped would be like 100$ add a blub and your ready to go...

anyone else?
 
Im in love with my 600w Lumetek ballast and daystar AC hoods. I have to figure out what a good valentines day present should be.....
 
making loud nosies, one guy's crapped out on him after like 3 months

digital ballasts in general don't have a great rep, from what i understand
 
Yeah, I have noticed that the bulb rattles. Not sure why but I guess I thought that was normal. Similar systems cost upward of $500.00 and I just didn't have that kind of cheddar at the time. We'll see what happens. Do you know where I can get a nice but reasonably priced CO2 injection system?
 
Its kinda funny how similar the reef aquarium industry is to the grow industry. In the aquarium industry you cant find magnetic ballast any more. In the grow industry is still primaraly magnetic. I chose digi ballasts for there efficiency and fast start up, not to mention there dead silent. Im a long way from an expert on ballasts, but i have been using digi ballast for more then 5 years on my reef tanks, and i have had zero problems. I know everything has potential for issues, but digi ballast have been good to me. Well worth the extra expense IMO. I would never buy a ebay or off brand digi ballast, but the ones from reputable companies seem good. (ice cap, PFO, lumeteck, Sunlight Supply)

I would get hortilux. I <3 dual spectrum.

I believe the sunmaster is what I had originally ordered but the sent me the ArgoMax as a free upgrade because they were out of the other. I haven't flowered with it yet but I can tell you that it is bright as hell and you can really see the red spectrum in it. Looks just like the sun. It also has a 30% balance of blue spectrum which is supposed to be great for high yields. We'll see.

these are the bulbs i am using, they came highly recommend here, and my local shop. The super HPS seem reasonalby priced and they perform as described.

Its basically the only bulb the hydroshop will sell me. He swears by these. I definitely notice the blue spectrum compared to my son argo.
 
hi i am currently setting up my first grow room (never needed a bulb b4 as i always used the sun) i have got my light system just a little question i have got a one gang contactor with 2 plugs does this mean i have to have to buy 2 timers???? or just plug them into one extension and run my timer off that??? thanks
 
I can get a brand new complete digi 1000 and horti for under $300 at my local hydro shop. Check the criagslist postings!

want that warranty! 1000w a bit much for my setup, hell the 600 will probably prove difficult..
